The Department of Business, Career, and Technical Education hosts 23rd Annual Conference for Business and Marketing Educators

Raleigh, NC - The Department of Business, Career, and Technical Education in the College of Education at ECU hosted the 23rd Atlantic Coast Business, Marketing, and Information Technology Education Conference (ACBMITEC) at the North Raleigh Hilton, February 16 - 18, 2006. The theme this year was Soaring to New Heights with Business, Marketing, and Information Technology Education.

The conference drew in more than 300 high school, community college and university, business, marketing, and information technology teachers and instructors from North Carolina and contingent states. The program included sessions for business and marketing educators at all levels. Attendees received a mix of networking tools, hands- on sessions, and new technology education.

Dr. Stephen Kirk, director of this year’s conference, said the keynote speaker, Ms. Glenda Cook, provided attendees with an informative and often comical delivery on Creating the Cooperative Learning Connection. The conference closed with an informative policy update from Ms. Claudia Skinner, section chief for Business and Information Technology at the Department of Public Instruction. “Participants of this year’s conference were enthusiastic to return to their schools and classrooms with the new found knowledge and technologies they mastered.” ###
