1. Athletes will need photo ID and weigh-in cards to weigh-in. Weigh-in cards will be distributed at TEAM CHECK IN

2. All teams should report at weigh-in time. We will weigh in by Wrestling Federation Rules.

3. Any skin irregularities / diseases must be accompanied by a note from a physician stating the disease in non communicable. Physician’s must have clearance filled out on STATE APPROVED FORM (form is attached).

SESSION SCHEDULE - Times are approximate - Final two rounds will not start ahead of time

1. Session One: Pigtail Round - 9:15 Round 1 -- 10:15 Round 2 – 12:00 Round 3 – 2:15

2. Session Two: Round 4 – 3:30 Cons.3-4 and 5-6 on two mats Round 5 – 5:00 Championships on one mat

ADMISSION:

1. Adult $8.00 Student/Child/Sr. Citizen $6.00 Please note: Tickets are good for both sessions.

2. Mat Classic (State Tournament) All Tournament Tickets will be available on a pre-sale basis and will be sold on Saturday evening. Ticket prices will be:

Single Session and All Day Tickets can be purchased at the Tacoma Dome.

3. Acceptable passes: Press Pass and WIAA Lifetime Pass ** NO OTHER PASSES WILL BE ACCEPTED**

4. Schools will EMAIL the included pass list to the tournament manager no later than WEDNESDAY, FEB. 9th.

5. Cheerleaders in uniform will be admitted free, with an accompanied cheer advisor. Each school will be limited to a maximum of four at mat side. Their names should appear on the attached pass gate list.

6. News media and photographers - only those approved by the tournament director will be allowed in the mat area.

AWARDS  Medals will be awarded to the first four place finishers in each weight class.

 Individual awards will be presented during the championship session. Team scores will be kept and a First Place Team trophy will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament.

STATE QUALIFIERS  The first FIVE (5) place finishers in each weight division will qualify for the State Wrestling Tournament to be held in the Tacoma Dome February 18th and 19th.

 The 6th place finisher will become the alternate at the State Tournament. The alternate will be used in the event of a scratch by a higher placer for their district only.

 Pictures for the state program of the top five (5) place finishers will be taken immediately after the awards presentation for that weight class. Please have the wrestlers in their school warm up.

PRE-TOURNAMENT - COACHES' MEETING  Hospitality Room - Immediately following weigh-ins  Please have a representative present for the meeting.  Agenda - Coach of the year, assistant coach of the year, jr. high coach of the year voting. last minute bracket changes, officials, athletic trainer, announcer

OFFICIALS Will be assigned by the WIAA

MEDICAL/FIRST AID Certified Athletic Trainers will be provided

TOURNAMENT GAMES COMMITTEE:  Head Official  Tournament Director  Site Director  Two Coaches from neutral schools MATCHES ENDING IN A DRAW  Federation overtime rules will apply.

 For the Consolation & Championship finals, two officials will be used.

DISPUTES  Any disputes occurring at the tournament will be presented to the Tournament Director and he will confer with the Tournament Games Committee. Their decision will be final.

 The WIAA expulsion rule (23.32-Conduct eligibility rules and penalties) will be followed.

GENERAL INFORMATION

LOCKER ROOMS  Wrestlers deposit all debris in trashcans.  P. E. Baskets are not disturbed.  Bulletin boards are left untouched.  Coaches should discuss proper care of locker room area.  Each school must furnish their own towels

FLOOR RESTRICTIONS  Only participants and coaches will be allowed on the main floor. Spectators will sit in the general seating area.  The limit is two coaches per mat.  Four (4) cheerleaders at mat side at any one time.  Cameras will not be allowed on the floor. Video is limited to the bleachers.

PARKING FACILITIES  Parking is available on campus.  Bus parking is available on the East side of the school.

SIGNS  No signs except official school banners allowed.

BANDS AND NOISEMAKERS  Bands and noisemakers will NOT be allowed.

COACHES  Each coach is responsible for the conduct of his team.  Each school is responsible for their valuables  Each coach shall turn in a copy of the alpha master list from the weight management program. SPECIAL INTRODUCTION BEFORE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND  This procedure will be reviewed at the coaches' meeting February 12th. The championships will be held on one mat starting as close to 5:00pm as possible.

 Finalists advancing from the top ½ of the bracket will be introduced and seated at the North end of the gymnasium (concessions side). Finalists advancing from the bottom ½ of the bracket will be introduced and seated at the South end of the gymnasium (podium side).

TEAM SCORING  All tournament scoring will be as stated in the National Federation Rule Book (Rule 9, Section 2)

 TEAM PLACEMENT First Place - 16 points Fourth Place - 7 points Second Place - 12 points Fifth Place - 5 points Third Place - 9 points Sixth Place - 3 points

TOURNAMENT SCORING Individual placement points shall be awarded as soon as earned. Placement points already earned will be deducted in case of forfeit (other than injury) or disqualification from the tournament. Points for team scoring shall be awarded as follows:

 (2) team advancement points shall be scored for each match won in the championship bracket, except for the final first place match. If a wrestler receives a bye in the first round, he shall be awarded 2 advancement points for that round if he wins his next match. No points are awarded for the bye if the wrestler loses his next match.

 (1) team advancement point shall be scored for each match won in the consolation round, except for the final third and fifth place matches. A wrestler who has a bye in the consolations round shall receive one advancement point, provided he wins the next round match.

 POINTS FOR DEFAULT, DISQUALIFICATION, FALL, OR FORFEIT a. a. Two additional points will be scored for each match won by default, disqualification, fall, or forfeit throughout the tournament. b. b. One and one-half points will be awarded for each match won by a technical fall. c. c. One point will be awarded for each match won by a major decision.

 OTHER SCORING In tournament scoring six places, the winner of each championship quarterfinals shall be awarded three points, and the winner of each championship final shall be awarded for additional place points. The winner of the quarterfinal consolation match shall receive three additional place points. The winner of the third place and the winner of the fifth place shall receive two additional place points.

WITHDRAWAL OF QUALIFIERS Any school that intends to withdraw a qualified participant should contact Brent Kawaguchi at (425) 936-1510 as soon as possible. This will allow time to contact the alternates.
