VILLAGE OF STOCKBRIDGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES BUDGET WORK SESSION SEPTEMBER 20, 2016, 6:00 P.M. VILLAGE OFFICE – 116 SOUTH MILITARY

Meeting called to order by Village President, Roman Kappus Jr. Present are Trustees Dean Bornemann, Bruce Rubin, Tim Lemke, Marilyn Behnke and Amy Zahringer.

Board reviewed and set recommendations for both the receipts and expenditures within the 2017 Proposed Budget spreadsheets. The Board discussed reductions in interest earnings & utility bond interest payments for debt retirement in 2017, and increases in expenses related to parks, office equipment outlay (copier), multi-hazard mitigation, scheduling another Spring large item drop off, community marquee & street maintenance.

The Board also reviewed the First Responder’s 2017 proposed total budget of $15,217 and the Village’s proportionate share of approximately $4,565.

The Board also reviewed the Fire Department’s 2017 proposed total budget of $65,309 and the Village’s proportionate share of $18,900.

Zahringer presented an update related to the Recreation Park baseball diamond upgrades and indicated that if the Stockbridge Baseball Association does not complete the storage shed before the end of this fiscal year, the $5,545, which is the unspent 2016 budgeted amount, will be rolled into an earmarked account for those updates in 2017. Zahringer also presented a proposal related to removal of all the shredded bark mulch and replacement with rubber mulch at Recreation Park.

After consideration of all the receipts and expenditures, the Board completed the 2017 Proposed Village Budget with a proposed levy set at $272,255.

The proposed budget will be published and the budget adoption date will be included in that publication and properly posted.
