Tampere Plastic Surgery Flap Dissection Course I

”The versatility of the work-horses– hands on cadaver dissection course” Venue: Surgery training center, Tampere University hospital, Finland Course includes both lectures by experienced specialists and dissection with fresh cadavers in an operating room setting.

Tampere Surgical Training Center is located in the main campus area in Building O. Hotel Norlandia Care is located right next to the training center (Building FM6-7 of the map).

There are several busses which stop at Teiskontie bus stop next to hospital campus (city busses number 16,18,19,28, 29).

0800-1200 Cadaveric dissections at surgery training center / Session 1 The participants will be raising Latissimus dorsi flaps, scapula, and optionally serratus fascia/muscle, parascapular flaps, trapezius muscle and lumbar artery perforator flaps. Table instructors: TAYS staff, Saarikko, Kauhanen

1200-1300 Lunch at Norlandia care

1300-1600 Cadaveric dissections at surgery training center / Session 2 The participants will be raising DIEP / ms-TRAM flaps, SIAE flaps, and optionally, lymph node transfer with groin flap / SIEA flap / SCIP flap. Also, the participants will get to practice the exposure of internal mammary vessels for microvascular anastomosis with/without cartilage removal.

TFL, Vastus Lateralis, Rectus Femoris and ALT flaps 2. Chimeric and composite free flaps Patrik Lassus

Friday 10.4.2015

0800-1200: Cadaveric dissections / Session 3. The participants will be raising ALT, TFL, Vastus lateralis, gracilis muscle / TMG flaps. The participants can also practice raising rectus femoris and Sartorius flaps.

1200-1300: Lunch

1300-1600: Cadaveric dissection / Session 4. The participants will be raising fibula flaps with/without muscle and skin. Also, the participants will get to practice the most common exposures of the lower extremity for microvascular anastomosis and raising propeller flaps.

1600: Farewell and closing remarks
