“So Subordinating” Poetry

DIRECTIONS: 1. Your poem must have THREE stanzas of FIVE lines each. 2. The first FOUR lines of each stanza must begin with a subordinating conjunction BUT IT CANNOT BE A COMPLETE THOUGHT. 3. The LAST line of the stanza CANNOT begin with a subordinating conjunction AND must be a COMPLETE THOUGHT.

Details, details, details…  The first word of each line must begin with a capital letter.

 The first four lines are punctuated with a comma.

 The last line is punctuated with a period.

EXAMPLE #1: EXAMPLE #2:

After I tee the ball up, As soon as I take back the club, Before I swing through, While I hesitate, I think about my next shot.

As soon as I approach the ball, When I choose my club, Where I am going to aim, Wherever the ball ends up, I will play this hole well.

In order to line up my ball, As much as I think about it, So that it goes in, Because I am a good putter, I played this hole fabulously.
