General Membership Meeting Minutes Friday, April 30, 2010 Iron Hill Brewery

Call to Order: President Mark Morgan (Moorestown Theater Company) called the meeting to order at 11:40 AM with members introducing themselves around the room. Networking Time & Lunch: Sponsored by Iron Hill Brewery. Minutes: Copies of the March General meeting minutes were on each table for review, and were unanimously approved. Membership: Mark Morgan (Moorestown Theater Co.) mentioned that membership in the MBA is currently at 170, down from 231 in 2009. Standing Committees Board of Directors: Mark re-iterated the board’s meeting time and alternating venues (Susquehanna Bank and Moorestown Radio Control Hobbies). Mark also invited members to stop by any first-Wednesday Board meetings. Reminder to members that odd month’s breakfast meetings are at the Community House and even month’s lunch meetings are at area restaurants. Budget: Okay, according to Harry; all bills paid. Bylaws: No report at this time. Community Affairs: No report at this time. Ethics: No report at this time. Marketing: Reminder that 2010 directory is being finalized and goes to the printer soon. Nominating: No report at this time. Policies: No report at this time. Scholarship: Dan Posternock (Barron & Posternock) is working with the high school to provide of list of scholarship candidates. This will be the third year that the MBA has awarded scholarships to students interested in business careers. Social: Reminder that the next Business after Business event is on Wednesday, May 26th at Bollinger Insurance (which is a change from Laurel Creek Country Club), from 5:30 PM to 7 PM. Sponsorship: Mark reminded members present that it is not too late for a business to sponsor an MBA event, and to contact, Sponsorship Chair Tom Sheckels. Event Committees ArtWalk: ArtWalk is the 2nd Friday of each month from 6-9 PM on Main Street, starting May 14th.

Moorestown Day: Reminder that June 5th is Moorestown Day and to contact Event Chair, Harry Koons for a booth/table space. Costs are $40 for non-MBA members, but free to MBA members. Applications are available on the Moorestown.com/MBA website. These events offer valuable visibility, as 10K plus attend annually. Autumn in Moorestown: Applications for this event can also be found on the Moorestown.com/MBA site. 1 Halloween Parade & Bonfire: Great opportunity for businesses that cater to children. Candlelight Night: No report at this time. Old Business -Mark Morgan received the “Chairperson’s Award” for his work with the MBA and with the Moorestown Theater Company, on April 19th at the Burlington County Chamber of Commerce’s Voice of Business awards dinner at the Aloft Hotel. -Mark also attended the ceremony to re-dedicate the former Salem Park to John Pryor Park, on April 25th. The MBA has gifted the park association with $500 for a park plaque. New Business - A Public Visioning Open House will take place at the Moorestown Library on May 11th to discuss the Moorestown Bicycle Circulation and Safety Plan, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM.

Congressman Adler, who sits on the Financial Services Committee, deftly fielded questions from the audience that covered a broad range of topics, including economic recovery statewide and nationally, his vote against the TARP and healthcare bills, and the current legislation affecting small businesses.
