1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE

4.A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Providing sole source for design, engineering, manufacturing and warranty claims handling. Company specializing in manufacturing products specified with a minimum 20 years experience.

4.B. Installer Qualifications: Trained, certified and approved by manufacturer, with documented experience on similar projects.

4.C. Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship. 4.C.1. Finish areas designated by Architect. 4.C.2. Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship and appearance are approved by Architect. 4.C.3. Rework mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

11160-3 1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

5.A. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

5.B. Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.

1.6 PROJECT CONDITIONS

6.A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.7 WARRANTY

7.A. Manufacturer's Warrantees: Subject to standard limitations on liability. 7.A.1. Warranty for Air Tower, Blower and Hoses: Five years for parts and labor standard. 7.A.2. Foam sealing member shall be weighted and lie flat across entire width of trailer top. 2.F.3. Header seal shall be self positioning and require no manual activation. 2.F.3.a. Sealing member shall be protected by flexibly attached front impact plates that act to position the seal on top of the trailer. 2.F.4. 2.G. Product: Rite-Hite PitMaster X Under-leveler Seal as manufactured by Rite-Hite. 2.G.1. Under-leveler seal shall automatically seal pit edges and adjust to leveler position. 2.G.2. Under-leveler seal shall consist of two sealing curtains providing frontal coverage of leveler pit and leveler header structure. 2.G.2.a. Sealing curtains shall be made from black, 16 oz. Superflex fabric, or equal. 2.G.2.b. Main sealing curtain component shall allow sealing curtain to respond to dock leveler movement in order to provide coverage in below dock, dock level or above- dock positions. Seal shall provide a minimum of 3 inches (76 mm) of above-dock coverage. 2.G.3. Leveler lip corner seals constructed of 35 oz. Superwear shall be available to provide additional coverage of air gaps between leveler lip edge, pit edge and truck trailer rear sill. Lip corner seals shall not interfere with below-dock end loads. 2.G.4. Filler Pads constructed of 22 oz vinyl shall be available to provide additional coverage of air gaps between the wall and trailer on the outboard side of the dock bumper. 2.G.4.a. Bumper Covers constructed of heavyweight fabrics shall be available to cover filler pads and provide additional coverage of air gaps between the trailer rear sill and dock bumper face. 2.G.5. Open lip hinge seal constructed of closed cell polyolefin foam shall be available to fill gaps between leveler deck and lip when lip is in pendant position. 2.G.6. 2.H. Product: Rite-Hite PitMaster Under-leveler Seal as manufactured by Rite-Hite. 2.H.1. Under-leveler seal shall automatically seal pit edges, adjust to leveler position and self store. 2.H.2. Under-leveler seal shall consist of two independent sealing curtain components providing frontal coverage of leveler pit and leveler header structure. 2.H.2.a. Sealing curtains shall be made from black, 14 oz. vinyl-coated fabric. 2.H.2.b. Main sealing curtain component shall allow sealing curtain to respond to dock leveler movement in order to provide coverage in below dock, dock level or above- dock positions. Seal shall provide a minimum of 3 inches (76 mm) of above-dock coverage. 2.H.2.c. Corner lip seals constructed of 35 oz. Superwear shall be available to provide additional coverage of air gaps between leveler lip edge, pit edge and truck trailer 11160-9 rear sill. Filler Pads constructed of 22oz vinyl shall be provided for additional coverage of air gaps between the wall and trailer on the outboard side of the dock bumper. 2.H.2.f. Bumper Covers constructed of a Durathon and a TuPly vinyl shall be provided for additional coverage of air gaps between the trailer rear sill and dock bumper face. 2.H.3. Under-leveler seal shall be provided by manufacturer to be cut to fit at time of installation. 2.H.4. Under-leveler seal clearances around lip keepers shall be a maximum of 1/8 inch (3 mm). 2.H.5. Under-leveler seal clearances around vehicle restraint shall be maximum of 2 inches (51 mm). 2.H.6. Mounting location of all under-leveler seal components shall be determined at time of installation 2.H.7. Under-leveler seal mounting materials to be galvanized steel and zinc-plated hardware.

2.I. Product: Rite-Hite VHL Under-leveler Seal (Model VHLS) as manufactured by Rite-Hite. 2.I.1. Under-leveler Seal shall automatically seal pit edges and adjust to leveler position. 2.I.2. Under-leveler Seal shall consist of one sealing curtain providing an insulated frontal coverage of leveler pit and an un-insulated coverage of leveler header structure. 2.I.2.a. Sealing curtains shall be made from black, 16 oz. Superflex fabric. 2.I.2.b. Main sealing curtain component shall allow sealing curtain to respond to dock leveler movement in order to provide coverage in below-dock, dock-level or above- dock positions. Seal shall provide a minimum of 3 inches (76 mm) of above-dock coverage. 2.I.2.c. Vertical end seals constructed of black, 16 oz. Superflex shall be available to provide additional coverage of air gaps between underside of leveler lip, truck trailer rear sill and next to the bumper. End seals are capable of below-dock end loads. 2.I.2.d. Vertical leveler lip seals constructed of heavy weight vinyl shall be available to provide additional coverage of air gaps between leveler lip edge, bumper and truck trailer rear sill. Vertical leveler lip seals are not intended for below-dock end loads. 2.I.2.e. Filler Pads constructed of 22 oz vinyl shall be available to provide additional coverage of air gaps between the wall and trailer on the outboard side of the dock bumper. 2.I.3. PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

1.A. Installer shall examine the opening and conditions under which dock equipment is to be installed and notify the Architect and Contractor in writing of any conditions detrimental to the proper and timely completion of the work. Do not proceed with the work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in a manner acceptable to the installer.

1.B. Do not begin installation until openings have been properly prepared.

1.C. If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

2.A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

2.B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.

3.B. Before acceptance, a demonstration shall be conducted in the presence of the Owner's representative that all equipment operates properly in every aspect. Conduct a detailed user/operator training session at time and place agreed upon by Owner's representative.

3.4 PROTECTION

4.A. Protect installed products until completion of project.

4.B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
