Miscellaneous Assignments = +points vary

ABSENCES ALL cleared absences will result in the lack of earning participation points for the day. This includes school activities such as field trips, college presentations, assembly set-up, etc. All absences marked truant will result in the lack of earning participation & dressing points for the day.

EXTRA CREDIT Extra credit is offered after every timed mile run which most often occurs on a weekly basis. Students can complete extra laps after the initial four laps. These extra credit points can be used to make up for absences, non-dressing, non-participation, incomplete fitness activities, mile standards that were not met, etc.

Article write-ups can be submitted to make up ABSENCES only and are due within the grading period in which they occurred. All article write-ups are to be submitted to Google Classroom.

Benchmark Testing is another opportunity for extra credit. Two points can be earned for every component of the benchmark that is met.

MAKE-UPS Make-ups are only provided for missed mile runs due to absence. Make-ups for the mile are not permitted for students who CHOOSE to not participate in the mile on a particular day. Missed miles must be made up the immediate week following the missed day. If the student does not make up the missed mile the following week, he/she will need to complete extra credit laps to make up the missed points from the mile. See above section for extra credit options. Make-ups will be scheduled either during lunch or after school, not both.

MEDICAL EXCUSES All medical excuses must come from a licensed physician. If you are excused from participation, you are still required to dress for class. In order to earn participation points for the day(s) a student is medically excused, an article write-up must be submitted in lieu of participation. Article write-ups are to be submitted to Google Classroom by the end of the following day of excused participation. Failure to complete the article write-ups will result in the lack of earned participation points for the excused day. The student will have to earn these missed points back through extra credit opportunities. (Example: You are excused from participating in activity on Monday. You must complete and submit an article write-up by the end of the day on Tuesday.) GRADE SCALE: 90% - 100% A 80% - 89.5% B 70% - 79.5% C 60% - 69.5% D 0% - 59.5% F
