UNIT: M9.3 RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS YEAR 9 (MODIFIED)

UNIT OVERVIEW: Students will investigate the history of human rights, with a focus on Australian history. Students will examine the treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in post-colonial Australia. They will complete a depth study focussing on one major protest event in Australia, the Freedom Rides. They will develop research skills by evaluating the effectiveness and reliability of a variety of primary and secondary sources.
