Entries open - Thursday, Dec 1, 2016 Entries close - Thursday, Dec 29, 2016 at 8:00pm or when entry limit (70 tests) has been met. Once entry limits are met or closed, teams will be placed on a waiting list.

Entry Requirements All dogs must be registered with the NACSW™. All Handlers must have a CURRENT MEMBERSHIP with NACSW™ For information on how to register or become a member go to www.NACSW.net
Trial Eligibility and ORTs An ORT must be taken and passed at least 14 days before a trial opening date to be eligible for the first draw period.
Refund Policy Cancellations must be made in writing to the test secretary by e-mail prior to the closing date, Dec 29, 2016 at 8:00pm (Central Time) for a refund. The secretary is not responsible for e-mails that do not reach her. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail from her within 24 hours of your cancellation, please contact her again. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, or excused by the NACSW™ official or judge. No entry fees will be refunded after the closing date and time (Dec 29th at 8:00pm).TEST INFORMATION NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
The Test Site will be open from 3:30pm to 15 minutes after the last dog tests NOTE: There is NO inside crating at this test. All dogs will be crated in their cars. Check In: 3:30pm Handler Briefing: 4:15pm (or 4:00 if everyone has checked in) Testing Starts: shortly after the Handler Briefing
Scorebooks are optional and are not required to participate in an ORT. They are for personal record keeping. If you have lost a scorebook or would like a replacement, you can request a replacement scorebook that will include all your prior NACSW results. Log in to your account at: http://www.nacsw.net and under the “My Account” section go to “My Dogs” and choose the option to order a replacement score book there. The cost is $20.
NO SPECTATORS ARE PERMITTED IN THE SEARCH AREA during the ORT except NACSW™ officials, adults accompanying a minor, CNWI-in-training, or immediate family members/friends of the dog/handler team currently being tested.

We MUST receive a copy of your signature on the form. You can either scan the completed (and signed) form before you return it, OR you can complete the form and then take a photo of the signature portion to attach with it and e-mail to the above address.
Step 2 – You will receive a preliminary confirmation from the test secretary. Once you get confirmation, you can make payment through What a Great Dog! Training Center: either online or you can send a check to: What a Great Dog Training Center, 10550 John W Elliott Drive, Suite 200, Frisco TX 75033 (memo- ORT payment). You may also call them with a credit card number at 214-207-3000.
Please DO NOT make payment until you get your confirmation from the test secretary. Video/Photography Policy ORT participants are allowed to have a friend or family member video/photograph their test. ORT participants are not allowed to video/photograph one another. ORT hosts are not obligated to provide someone to video/photograph.
Test Site Information This test will be inside in a climate-controlled training facility with matted flooring. There will be no indoor crating. Competitors will crate out of their cars. There is sufficient parking in a shared strip center parking area but there is very little shade. Please bring whatever you need to make sure that you and your dog(s) are comfortable. Please be sure to clean up after your dog!! There will be trash bins available for disposal of pet waste nearby. Human restrooms are accessible inside the building. All dogs must be on a 6’ leash at all times when not being tested. NO flexi-leashes are to be used for walking dogs on test grounds. A flexi leash may be used during the test itself. Only flat collars, martingale collars, or harnesses may be used in the testing room. Prong collars, choke or slip collars, and head halters may be used to walk a dog to the door of the testing room, but must be switched to one of the allowable pieces of equipment. Please DO NOT bring any of the target odors with you to the test site or grounds. For safety sake, please do not wear any open-toed shoes.

ENTRIES: ● TELEPHONE, FAX, and UNSIGNED ENTRIES, cannot be accepted. We ask that you do not make payment until you receive confirmation of your test(s) from the Test Secretary.
● RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. A charge of $25.00 will be made for each returned check.

DOGS PRESENT will not be permitted to roam. Exhibitors are responsible for the behavior of their dogs. The owner of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready when it is to be judged. Be prepared to keep your dog in your car when not being tested or on leash at all times. THERE IS NO INSIDE CRATING AT THIS TEST.
FEMALES IN SEASON – Contact your test host at least 1 day before the ORT if this becomes a possibility
DOGS PARTICIPATING in ORT must be at least six months of age and must appear to be healthy on trial day and should be current on all vaccinations required by law.
Acknowledgement of entry acceptance/CONFIRMATION will be made when entries are processed for those handlers that provide an email address. If you require a confirmation via USPS, you must provide a self- addressed stamped envelope with your entry.
BASIC DESCRIPTION OF TEST– to successfully pass an ORT a dog must identify the location of the target odor and the handler must correctly call an “alert” within a three-minute time period. The Odor Recognition Test consists of a drill type exercise which requires 12 closed boxes set up in a pattern of one or two rows, spaced a minimum of 48” apart. The ORT is conducted on leash.
