WBOP INTERSCHOOL TENNIS TOURNAMENT 2017 Year 5 & 6

Date: Wednesday 25th October 2017 Time: 9.00am briefing Venue: WBOP Tennis Association Courts, Gordon Spratt Reserve, Papamoa Entries close: Wednesday 18th October Entries to: [email protected] Buddy Meyer(WBOP Primary School Sport Director , Sport Bop) Cost: $15.00 per player, Schools will be invoiced by Sport BOP Wet Weather: All team managers will receive a text and email. Postponement or cancellation will be posted on Sport BOP website.

Primary Division Year 5 & 6: Premier Grade Year 6 and under (singles only) WBOP Primary Grade Year 5 and 6 (singles and doubles)

Premier Grade Year 6 and under (Boys and Girls): A limited number of players will be invited to compete in this grade depending on their current rankings. Schools and parents of these players will receive an email before the end of term 3 regarding this grade. The top 2 players from this tournament will qualify to the Waikato/BOP Regional Tournament where they can then compete to qualify to the North Island Primary and Intermediate School Finals. Normal tennis rules will apply for this grade. The competition for this grade will be singles only, no doubles.

WBOP Primary Grade Year 5 and 6 (Boys and Girls): For all other players who will not be competing in the above grade, please complete the entry form below. . Green dot balls will be provided . Table Tennis scoring, 5 serves each – every point counts . Change ends after 10 points . Games are 20 minutes in duration if scores are tied you must play 1 sudden death point . Leave balls on Court / Leave pencil in the folder . Winner to return scoreboard to the tournament office

Players will require their own racket, non marking shoes, hat, water bottle, sun block, suitable playing clothes, lunch, snacks etc. Sun umbrellas and or gazebos would be useful as there is very little shade at the venue.

All players and managers are to assemble by 9.00am for a briefing on the day with play commencing at 9.15am sharp. It is hoped that the Prize Giving will be approximately 2.30pm but we will advise you closer to the tournament once we know the numbers entering.
