Monday Eng 6 Review Unit 1- Jeopardy review WIR Unit 1 – Cover reading strategies pages 10-13 Literature Maniac Magee – students will share their paragraph Composition Introduce Persuasive paper- read a-z sample/Model Prewriting

Tuesday Eng 6 Review Chapter 1 for test tomorrow. WIR Review the first 7 reading strategies. Understand key points of “before, during and after” in the reading process on pages 2 & 3.

Composition Complete prewriting for persuasive paper and develop a strong thesis. Read over a-z sample.

Wednesday Eng 6 Unit 1 Test.

Composition Complete key word outline and paragraph as class on “In a Nutshell”. Model “dress- ups” on class paragraph. Discuss intro paragraph for persuasive paper. If time allows, students will trade pre-writing and critique.

WIR Complete reading strategies and apply to elementary read aloud

Thursday Composition Craft an introductory paragraph for your persuasive paper. Review the a-z handout if necessary.

WIR Review the reading strategies on pages 4-15. Be prepared for a quiz on the key points of the reading process on pages 2 & 3.

Friday: WIR Quiz on key points of the reading process.

Composition Review IEW Unit 1 & 2. Model “dress-ups” on class paragraph. Share intro paragraph for persuasive paper. If time allows, students will trade intros and critique.

WEEKEND HOMEWORK Write your topic sentence for all three body paragraphs. Each topic sentence should reflect your thesis.
