What do you like about them?

Easily navigable; intuitive search options that don’t overwhelm but get where you need to be; good use of space (the ideal is not too cluttered but not so much boring, unused white space that the page feels low-energy); images (the good ones, that is) convey a positive, proud attitude; not too fluffy.

What do you like about them?

Same as above. Also easily skimmable with the eyes to quickly pick up new info. Rich with options. Appealing to all stakeholders (including those in the community who don’t currently have kids enrolled in school).

What design elements would you like to see changed on your current website?

Everything. There is little valuable content or positive messaging. The breadth of the district and its schools aren’t discernable. It’s flat and empty. The only major useful features are the homework hotlines on the middle school page.

We are suggesting Layout B however, we are interested in the navigation seen at cforks.org: two horizontal navigation bars, with a clear, easily seen lefthand quick links list that changes on each page, like a walking and usable site map. Please keep that in mind when making layout choices for us. Main Navigation: List all of the Main Navigation buttons you would like to be displayed in order from left to right (we suggest 4-6 buttons):

(We can alter this somewhat. We just want the basic homepage layout). The interior pages will usually have navigation on the left and your choice of columns. Body: List all of the items that you would like to appear in the Body of your homepage (i.e. News Articles, Events, etc.) – in reality you have full control over this in the CMS once your site is made but let us know what you are hoping to see in the concept.

Each school will have their own page and photos. The main navigation buttons will have dropdowns—do you need those now? Group teacher pages will be needed to fulfill the homework hotline service now provided on the old website. Better logo to come.
