Sampling guide for raw materials to be tested in the R&D-Center Of NBLE

In case of full line (Crush-ability + Chemical tests), Pyroprocess (Chemical Tests) Note: Please coordinate with us, before sending the samples.

We ask you to let us have representative average samples of the individual raw materials (at least 25 kgs each) and, packed in air-tight tins, stating the P.-No.: … indicated in our covering letter.

In the following some general information is provided to be considered if sample are sent to the:

1. The samples have to be of representative character for the quarry and /or the process. this should be considered carefully during the sampling campaign. 2. In addition, all analysis data available (e.g. from a plant already operation or during an exploration program) should be submitted .with those data a better judgment of the test result is possible. 3. The amount of samples required depends on the test work to be carried out and should be clarified with our Raw material- and Cement Technology Department in advance. Nevertheless there are some general guiding rules:

Limestone compound (limestone, marl, etc.) 30 kg Clay compound (clay, shist, silt, marl, etc.) 30 kg Additives (sand, iron ore, laterite, bauxite, etc.) 5 kg Process samples (raw meal, hot meal, samples from preheater or calciner) 5 kg Raw coal 1 kg Fine coal 5 kg Clinker 5 kg Gypsum 5 kg Cement 5 kg

Roller press tests will be carried out on single compounds only (no mixtures). If roller press tests a scheduled, 300 kg of each test compound (e.g. limestone) is required. 4. The Raw material- and Cement Technology Department have to be informed immediately when samples are submitted. 5. If not advised otherwise, all samples should be sent to the following address:
