File locations On hepfm007.uta.edu, the daemon code and the xml generator code is under /home/mcfarm/bin. The file McFarmGraph_daemon is a python script, which contains the daemon code. The xml generator code is written in PERL and is in the file xmlgen.pm. The file xmlgen_wrapper is a wrapper around the xmlgen.pm file. The cgi- scripts are under /usr/local/apache2/cgi-bin. For details of the scripts refer the McFarmGraph documentation. Also to understand the directory structure created by the daemon to store the pulled files refer the McFarmGraph documentation.

Addition of a new Farm When a new farm is to be added, only the configuration file (daemon.conf) is to be changed. On hepfm007.uta.edu the file daemon.conf is located under /home/mcfarm/McFarmGraph_New/conf/. If a farm named foo-HEP is to be added then the following steps are to be followed.

1. Open daemon.conf in your favorite editor. Add the line FARM=foo-HEP, , . ‘,’ Acts as the delimiter, please follow the exact format. 2. Change the NUMBER_OF_FARMS variable by one. 3. Save the file and close the editor.

A directory named foo-HEP will be created in the directory structure and all the job stat files will be pulled and placed in this directory structure.

To display the link for the new farm on the http://hepfm000.uta.edu/job_status/ page, edit the index.html file at /usr/public_html/job_status. Add a link for the new farm with appropriate title. The parameter that is passed to the filter.cgi file should be “main” and the directory name that has been specified in the configuration file of the daemon for this farm e.g. to add a new farm say XYZ-HEP the following line needs to be added to the index.html page at the appropriate position in the file “Click here for the XYZ farm jobs

Deletion of a farm If a farm is to be deleted temporarily then just comment out the FARM=…. line in the configuration file. The directory structure will not change. No new files will be pulled from the remote site, but McFarmGraph will still display the old job stat files. To permanently delete a farm the line corresponding to the farm name is to be deleted and also the directory structure for that particular farm. Remove the corresponding link from the http://hepfm000.uta.edu/job_status/ page by editing the index.html file at /usr/public_html/job_status.
