At home, help your child practice the suffix -ed PATTERNS, not just the words on the list. The pattern list below includes words with suffix -ed patterns. However, the goal of spelling is to learn patterns and apply that learning into his/her writing; not to memorize the following words for a test. Sometimes, due to the English language, patterns need to be memorized, however we would like the children to be able to apply this pattern in their everyday writing whenever possible.
