Dwight School Seoul Becomes First IB World School in Seoul Authorized to Offer All Three IB Programmes
Innovating International Education in South Korea
Seoul, South Korea, May 12, 2014: Dwight School Seoul, located in Sangam-dong Digital Media City, is the first International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Seoul to receive authorization of all three programmes for students from age 3–19: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). The School reached this milestone less than two years after opening its doors.
The academically vigorous IB ― widely recognized at known as the “gold standard” in pre-university preparation worldwide ― is the only universal curriculum where students are measured according to the same international benchmarks. The challenging, comprehensive program encourages students to be principled, inquiring, culturally sensitive, critical thinkers and well-rounded individuals who can make the world a better place. IB graduates often have an advantage in the college application process at top-tier universities around the world.
“Dwight School Seoul provides students with the highest level of support, focused on forever developing, improving, and executing quality IB education to prepare them for success in higher education and the global marketplace,” said Kevin Skeoch, Head of Dwight School Seoul. “With the recent authorization of our Primary Years Programme ― the foundation for IB students ages 3–12 ― we proudly establish Dwight at the first IB World School in Seoul to offer all three programmes. This achievement is testament to our dedicated faculty, students, and parents, who continue to strive for excellence in international education.”
“Being authorized to offer the PYP so soon after opening is a reflection of Dwight's experienced leadership and expert PYP-trained teachers,” said Sara Croucher, Head of Dwight School Seoul’s PYP Programme. “We are delighted to join with fellow MYP and DP faculty in providing our students with a stimulating IB experience across the full continuum of programmes.”
