Judges Comments
Class 1 Aperitif Judge: Peter Robinson No: 10 bottles
Quite a good class overall, Winner an excellent example
Class 2 White/golden fruit table dry Judge: Elaine Robinson No: 17 bottles
Well present class, Most wines were light in fruit with reasonable length and acidity. Some did have too much acidity. Average class
Class 3 Red fruit table dry Judge: Kevin Martin No: 13 bottles
A good class to judge, No major faults. A few were old wines lacking fruity freshness. A couple were slightly thin, but a good wine well done
Class 4 Rose [Medium Dry] Judge: Kate Edge No: 10 bottles
All wines gained full marks for presentation, no major faults and a pleasing class to judge
Class 5 red- Social sweet Judge: Colin Hotham No: 12 bottles
A very good class to judge all wine ok
Class 6 Red/Tawny-Sweet Judge: Elaine Robinson No: 9 bottles
Good class to judge, although several wines on the dry side. Very close between the top three wines
Class 7 White White/golden-Sweet Judge: Kevin Martin No: 17 bottles
Interesting class, mostly good wines, and No faults. The top six were very good and different to separate. The rest mainly needed more fruit or sugar to balance
Class 8 white/golden- medium sweet social Judge: Peter Robinson No: 16 bottles
A challenging class to judge – A lot of sound wines, but nothing outstanding. The balance of acidity and sweetness was the telling factor Class 9 After dinner any colour Judge: Kate Edge No: 15 bottles
A pleasing class to judge100% presentation for points. No major faults, excellent effort by all competitors
Class 10 Three bottles of wine for dinner Judge: Colin Hotham No: 7 entries
A very Good class to Judge thank you
Class 11 Bitter Judge: Richard Baldwin No: 14 bottles
Generally not a bad class. However in my view a bitter is a beer using Crystal malt between. [3.5% - 4.5%] These were mainly golden beers and I judge as this
Class 12 Light Lager Judge: Richard Baldwin No: 9 bottles
Top three lagers not bad examples, but overall a rather disappointing class
Class 13 Dry Stout Judge: Richard Baldwin No: 9 bottles
Overall not a bad class
Class 14 Porter Judge: G Fryer No: 11 bottles
Generally a good class. Quite a few beers were over conditioned. Top places were good example of the style
Class 15 Three bottles of Beer Judge: No: 6 entries A mixed quality class, some very good beers, some faults. Consistency is the key to a good place One beer sometimes let a competition down
