The Fifth Grade Field Trip Will Be Friday, May 24, 2016

Great news!!! Our PTO has approved an awesome field trip for the fifth grade class.

The fifth grade field trip will be Friday, May 24, 2016.

The schedule for the day will be: 7:00 a.m. Leave Hodgesville Elementary School 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Heinz Field Tour 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Packed Lunch on the grounds of the National Aviary 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. National Aviary (includes a private show) 3:30 p.m. Leave Pittsburgh, PA 4:30 p.m. Dinner at Cracker Barrel in Washington, PA PTO will be providing dinner from the children’s menu for each fifth grader. 5:45 p.m. Leave Washington, PA 7:45 p.m. Return to Hodgesville Elementary School

The admission cost for parents to both activities is: $18.00 per person. Make checks payable to Hodgesville Elementary School. This amount does NOT include your dinner at Cracker Barrel.

In the event, the bus would fill up (there are about 30 seats available), I will select parents based on the date your money was received. I will also give each child the opportunity to have one parent attend prior to accepting two parents per child. I do need all fees to be paid no later than Friday, March 18 in order that I may finalize the number attending.

I can only purchase tickets for these attractions for those parents who choose to ride the bus. So, if you pay please be aware that you will be expected to ride the bus with the students. I have scheduled private tours that will only accept those adults riding the bus as chaperones. If you choose to drive, you will meet us at the National Aviary and purchase your ticket for general admission and the Live Bird Show in the Theater. Unfortunately, you will not be able to tour Heinz Field or participate in the Penguin show.

Students will need to bring a “brown bag” lunch. Please complete the attached form to let us know if you need the school to prepare a packed lunch for your child.

In the event I receive more chaperone requests than I have room, I will allow each child one chaperone and then I will go by the date on which your money was received. Please return this form no later than Friday, March 18.
