NEWS: The London Co-Investment Fund partners with VentureFounders to power London’s tech scale-ups

London, 26 July 2017 – VentureFounders, the equity investment platform funding UK tech scale-ups, has today announced that it has been selected as a partner by the London Co-Investment Fund (LCIF).

VentureFounders will now co-invest alongside LCIF, which is run by Funding London, in early-stage digital, science and technology businesses based in the capital.

This will give businesses raising on the VentureFounders platform access to additional investment, and offer the firm’s network of investors the ability to participate in larger funding rounds.

VentureFounders will join a select line-up of LCIF partners, including Seedcamp and Forward Partners, all of whom are providing much-needed sources of capital to the city’s most promising companies.

LCIF is an £25m fund raised by the Mayor of London’s Growing Places Fund and managed by Funding London and Capital Enterprise. It supports high growth tech, science and digital startups based in London that are looking to raise between £250,000 to £1.5m. These businesses are often products of private accelerators, incubators and support programmes and must be based in London and committed to creating jobs.

Since launching in 2015, LCIF has invested £14m into 88 tech companies, contributing to over £98m of funding with its co-investment partners.

LCIF aims to achieve their target of £2.90 of private sector investment for every £1 it invests. It intends to invest in at least 20 high-tech firms before the end of 2017. LCIF’s investments have already created over 600 new jobs.
