FORWARD MARKETS COMMISSION, MUMBAI Highlights/ Important Developments for the fortnight from 1.3.2012 to 15.3.2012

 Total value of trading at the Commodity Exchanges during the fortnight, 1st March, 2012 to 15th March, 2012 was

`7,45,970.19 crore. The cumulative value of trade from 1stApril, 2011 upto 15th March, 2012 during the financial

year 2011-12 was `173,69,550.60 crore. The corresponding figures for the previous year were `6, 94,020.49 crore

and `112, 86,676.02 crore respectively.

 The Commission, on 12th March, 2012 recommended the Renewal of Recognition of the Haryana Commodities Ltd.,

Sirsa, to the Ministry, in respect of forward contracts in Mustard seed for a period of one year w.e.f. 13 th

January, 2012 and in respest of forward contracts in Cotton seed oil cake w.e.f. 1st November, 2011.

 Permission for launching of contracts in various commodities was granted to the Exchanges as follows:
