SEBRING LOCAL SCHOOLS HIGHLIGHTS of Monday’s REGULAR BOARD MEETING

November 20, 2014

The Sebring Local Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, November 17, 2014 in the high school cafeteria at 6:00 p.m.

President Ray Harris called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll call was taken with the following present: Nancy Crewson, Ray Harris, Ronald McDonald, Tracie McFerren and Phil Safkow.

Also present were Superintendent Toni Viscounte, Treasurer Harry Hill, Mr. Corbi, Mrs. Whipkey, Mr. Linko, several high school students, several district residents, and the media.

1. President Harris welcomed the public and then gave a special “congratulations” to students regarding the Veteran’s Day programs on November 11. He also thanked Mr. Corbi, Mrs. Whipkey and Mr. Linko for their efforts for the programs.

16.There were no comments from the SLEA. 17.Comments from the public: Mrs. Jen Baum shared with the Board regarding the Box Top and Label Program. Since 2010 the program has raised over $6,700. The funds have been raised to provide educational materials for elementary students.

Mr. Brennson Soules addressed the Board regarding the Gladiators football team’s desire to use the Sebring stadium for home games.

There was a lengthy discussion regarding the revenue and expenditures for the 2000-2001 construction project.
