ICMCSF PAPER

The following guidelines must be used for the preparation of papers to be presented at the forthcoming International Conference on Mechanics of Complex Solids and Fluids (ICMCSF) in Lille, France, May 17-22, 2015. Authors are requested to follow these guidelines in order to achieve uniformity in the presentation of accepted papers that will be published in the conference electronic proceeding to be distributed to participants with other conference materials. Conference participants are encouraged to submit papers from any area (especially those covered by the conference topics) of theoretical, computational and/or experimental approaches to characterize and model mechanical behavior of materials, both in fluid and in solid state, and structures. Submission of a paper must be performed electronically sending it by email to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions of papers is January 31, 2015. The notification of acceptance will be sent to the contributors before February 10, 2015. Papers can only be accepted on the understanding that they will be presented at the conference. Both oral and poster presentations will be planned.

Oral presentation For oral presentation, a period of 15 minutes, plus 5 minutes discussion, will be allotted to each paper. Standard audio- visual equipment (PC, computer projector, screen, microphone, and pointer) will be available in each lecture room. Details regarding the congress presentation facilities will be provided on the ICMCSF website [1] after February 10, 2015.

Poster presentation No oral presentation will occur during the poster presentations in order to ensure that they receive a high profile among the conference participants. The conference will provide poster boards and stands. Details regarding the preparation of the poster will be provided on the ICMCSF website [1] after February 10, 2015.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

All papers must not exceed two A4 pages, including references, formulae, figures and tables if any. You are encouraged to use figures. All papers must be in English with Times-Roman letters, also the figures and tables. They must be converted to PDF format before submission through the ICMCSF website. All papers must conform at time of submission to the style of this document, starting with a title, followed by the name(s) of author(s) and affiliation(s). Full names of authors are preferred in the author field, but are not required. In the case of joint authorships, the name of the author presenting the paper at the conference must be underlined. Only the email of the corresponding author must be provided as a footnote. The title, in 12-point font, should appear 20 mm below the top edge of the page. It should be brief, clear and descriptive. Use all bold capital letters centred on the width of the typing area. Leave one blank line after the title and another after the affiliation. If the paper is divided into sections and subsections, please adopt the format used here, in which first-level headings are centred in bold capitals and second level headings are left aligned in bold lower case letters, starting with a capital. Do not number sections. The text should be single-spaced using 10-point font. Begin paragraphs flush at the left margin without indentation. The typing area of all pages should be 170 x 260 mm, leaving 20 mm margins on left, right, top and bottom. Do not number your paper. Tables (refer with: Table 1, Table 2, etc.) should be presented as part of the text, but in such a way as to avoid confusion with the text. Figures (refer with: Fig. 1, Fig. 2, etc.) also should be presented as part of the text, leaving enough space so that the caption will not be confused with the text. A descriptive caption should be placed below each figure and table. Color figures are welcome. For best quality the figures should have a resolution of 300 dpi. Equations (refer with: Eq. 1, Eq. 2, etc.) should be indented 5 mm. There should be one line of space above the equation and one line of space below it before the text continues. The formulae have to be numbered sequentially, and the number put in parentheses at the right-hand edge of the text. Formulae should be punctuated as if they were an ordinary part of the text. References are cited in the text just by square brackets [1]. Two or more references at a time may be put a) Corresponding author. Email: [email protected] ICMCSF, May 17-22, 2015, Lille, France

in one set of brackets [2,3]. The references are to be numbered in the order in which they are cited in the text and are to be listed at the end of the paper, see our example below.

RECOMMENDATION

Authors are urged to make their two-page paper as attractive as possible. The submitted paper will be reviewed by the ICMCSF organising and scientific committees to decide upon the suitability of your paper for presentation at the conference. It should contain the main features, results and conclusions as well as their general significance, accompanied by background information about how your work relates to other work in the field. Only essential formulae, figures and tables should be included and only key references need to be given. A communicative title and a clearly presented paper will assist the ICMCSF organising and scientific committees in making a positive decision with regard to the acceptance of your paper. The ICMCSF organising and scientific committees will award two ICMCSF prizes to young scientists for outstanding presentation at the conference. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony of the conference. When submitting the paper, you are requested to declare if the presenting author is below 39 years old and wishes to be candidate for the prize.

CONCLUSIONS

Prepare a paper as a PDF file, visit the ICMCSF web page [1], register (if you have not already done so), and submit paper following the instructions. Confirmation will be sent to you via your e-mail address.
