I use facebook to keep in touch with family, friends and to stay informed about sports events and community activities. I however, do not use it to slander others, gossip, or as a platform for politics. I believe when used respectfully, Facebook can be a great tool for sharing information and staying in touch. I have often used it to find out about school events, football games and directions to these games, as well as to stay in touch with my family and friends, and share photos. We all have busy lives and Facebook is a great tool for quickly sending a message to someone you know is just as busy and will be able to reply when it is convenient for them.

Parent Post It is very important to be conscientious what you post because of employment. What gets posted on the Internet stays on the Internet. I try to not post things that I wouldn't want others to read. I dont' use it to slander others or gossip. I don't think it should be used to deface others. Parent Post I'm apprehensive using Facebook in the classroom because of the potential for lawsuits when used inappropriately by someone hacking into your profile or a student. There are other ways teachers can can post about assignments or share projects about the class with parents such as through Live Grades or Wikispaces. Professionals as well as anyone must be very careful when in using any social network. RE: Facebook Discussion R
