Dear friends!

This year in Andalucía the spring is a bit late in arriving – that is, the nature is very green, as it has been since before Christmas, but the temperatures are a bit stingy in comparison to what we are used to. In the news they report that this year’s month of March has been the wettest March since 1947! We recorded 17 days of rain in March, when the normal is 5-10 days. But spring is approaching as we have had a few nice days lately and several noses have had a lot of sun, maybe a bit too much sun. The news also report that the dammed lakes in Andalucía have emptied out 3 years consumption of water throughout the winter. It is a pity that there aren’t more reservoirs as dry years are sure to come again.

We haven’t exactly been busy with guest during the first months of this year, unfortunately. If this is due to our selling the property or if there in general are fewer travelers to Spain in the early months of the year, we don’t know. The first months of the year are generally not our best months, so maybe it is just normal. We do have some guests during the month of April, but there are still many vacancies during May and June. No potential buyer has yet come around so we expect we will be here over the summer holidays. That means – go on and book your summer holidays for a trip to Posada HumbleBee Home!

Regarding the sale of the property it is definitely moving slowly – we didn’t really expect it to happen quickly though. We have had a few viewings and some interest through emails from the web site www.businessesforsale.com. At least a couple of these have been real interest, while several have been more like some kind of spam. We have the property out for sale with 3 real estate agents. They have all got our property on their own web sites in addition to the web sites of there business partners. As before mentioned, feel free to pass our newsletter on to your friends and relatives – maybe some are going to Spain for a vacation, or maybe some are even looking to buy a property.

However, we are still operating business as usual and need guests in the months ahead as well. Here is a little bit of information on what’s going on in our area in the upcoming months:

- May – Fiesta de Verdiales de las Tres Cruces. Folk dance and music as only the Spanish know how to put it together! - May – Romería Santo Cristo de la Sierra in Valle de Abdalajís - May – Romería en Honor a San Isidro Labrador i several villages around us, amongst them Almogía, Ardales and Teba

When the summer arrives so does all the local fería’s, local village fairs, with fun fairs and roller coasters for the children, music arrangements for both youth and the grownups, all mixed in good atmosphere, good food, good drinks and lots of people.

Some great news to us that we forgot to mention in the previous newsletter, is our new car. Our old reliable “humblebee” car had reached the respectable age of 15.5 years and had run a total of 320.000 km. Our equally reliable car mechanic didn’t think it worth spending another 1.000 euros on it, which was the amount needed to keep it going. We were forced to say goodbye to it and after a couple of days we managed to find a “new” Renault Kangoo. It is a 2008 model and had done 69.000 km. Our two main requirements for a new car were fulfilled: air condition and a side door to ease the access to the back seat. We received the car in November and it has already served us for more than 10.000 km! Now, when the summer heat gets a bit too intense for us “locals”, we can just take a nice cooling little drive 
