Sealed item rate tenders in duplicate in requisite forms for the work noted below under TWO COVER SYSTEM, as per Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement Act-2000 and its latest amendments are invited from the Class-I Contractors registered in KPWD. TWO COVER BID SYSTEM of tendering consists of Cover-I ie, Technical Bid and Cover-II Financial Bid. Bids will be received in two parts in two different sealed covers marked as “TECHNICAL BID’’ & FINANCIAL BID. These two covers shall be sealed and kept in another sealed cover duly superscribing name of work and shall be addressed to the Executive Engineer,M.I.Division,BIJAPUR. Tenderers can put the completed sealed tenders, in the tender boxes kept at either in the office of the Chief Engineer,M.I. (North)Zone,Bijapur, or Office of the Superintending Engineer,M.I.Circle,Belgaum or in the Office of the Executive Engineer,M.I.Dn,Bijapur. Cover-I containing Technical Bid will be opened first and eligibility of tenderers will be evaluated on the criteria prescribed, and the list of eligible tenderers will be prepared. Then, the Cover-II, ie Financial Bid of all the eligible tenderers only will be opened & evaluated.

General Conditions: The contractors interested in bidding for the work may submit an application for issue of the blank tender document to the undersigned alongwith cost of tender document which is non-refundable, to be paid in cash or in the form of D.D. drawn in the favour of undersigned. The contractor shall furnish the prescribed EMD ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION for issue of blank tender, The EMD shall be in the form of, FIXED DEPOSIT RECEIPT, or Bankers cheque from national bank or N.S.C. duly pledged in favour of undersigned. Or Bank guarantee drawn from nationalised bank duly mentioned name of work. Failing to do so, the application for issue of blank tenders will be rejected. The validity of tender & that of EMD shall be 90 days from date of opening of tender

The Calender of events for tender is as below. Last date for receipt of application for 24-2-2007. Upto 5-30 PM Issue of blank tender schedule(alongwith . Cost of tender schedule & EMD) ii) Date of issue of blank tender schedule. 27-2-2007. Upto 5-30 PM iii) Dt of submission of completed sealed tenders: 06-3-2007.Upto 4-0 PM. iv) Probable Date of Opening of tenders i,e Cover-I 7-03-2007 at 11-00 AM. (Technical Bid) If any of the date mentioned above happens to be a holiday, the next working day will be considered. To qualify for award pf the Contract, each tenderer in his name should have in the last five years i.e, I) Achieved, in at last two years , minimum financial turnover of Rs:406.00 lakhs. II) Satisfactorily completed ( not less than 90% of contract value) as a prime contractor, atleast one similer work, of value not less than Rs: 93.00 lakhs. III) Executed in any one year the following minimum quantities of work. (a) M.S.GATE 39.86 (b) Concrete 4708 Cum.

Financial turnover and cost of completed works of previous years shall be given a weightage of 10% per year. Further the tenderer should demonstrate. (a) Availability ( either owned or leased) of the following key & critical equipment for this work. (i) Excavator/ Poclain. 1 No. (ii) Lorries/Tipper 3 Nos. (iii) Air Compressor. 1 No. (iv) Concrete Mixers. 3 Nos. (v) Vibrators. 3 Nos.

(b) Availability for thisw work of a project manager with not less than five years experience in contruction of civil engineering works & other key personnel with adequate experience as required. (c) Liquid assets/ or availability of credit ( line of credit ) facility of not less than Rs:51.00 Lakhs. (d) Furnish the lastest Income Tax & Sales Tax clearance certificates. 5. The documentary evidence for all the above documents/certificates shall be produced in original for verification at the time of giving application & a copy of the same shall be enclosed to application for blank schedule & Technical bid. 6.
