This is your chance to get YOUR Spring Cleaning done without the landfill costs! De-clutter your home and yard by taking advantage of this one day opportunity!

Simply take your yard and spring cleaning waste up to the Barriere Landfill on Sunday April 26, 2009 between 9am and 5pm.

If you are within the District bounds and are unable to haul your waste and recyclables up to the Landfill, place your refuse curbside by 11am so that a kind hearted volunteer or District Employee can collect your spring cleaning material and bring it up to the landfill for you. Limbs & branches must be tied in bundles. Just make sure someone (that is able to help your volunteer load your refuse) is home from 11am to 3pm.

Remember to separate recyclables from your trash!

Some examples of recyclable materials: Typical Blue Bag recyclables, passenger tires, propane tanks, dishwashers, dryers, washing machines, car batteries, yard waste, books, magazines and cardboard.

Normally couches, hide-a-beds, mattresses, box springs, fridges, freezers, and household trash are items that you would be charged to dispose of at the Barriere Landfill. This is your chance!!

Some examples of items NOT accepted: Pharmaceuticals, Computers & Electronics, Hazardous Waste, Liquid, Animal by-products and carcasses, Limbs & branches over 5’ long (for volunteer curbside pickup), and Rocks and Soil
