Please read the following notes carefully, and sign below to indicate you have read and understood them.

No entries will be accepted after 20th April 2017 You can pay via cash, cheque or card (in person or by phone). Cheques should be made payable to ‘Ealing College Ltd.’.

Note 1. Information with regards to your exams will be sent via email. Please ensure you write your email address out very clearly. Sometimes emails get caught in a SPAM filter, so please consider adding [email protected] to your contacts to avoid this. We will send your certificate and results to the postal address you give. Therefore please ensure you keep us up to date with any change of address until you have received your certificate. Certificates will be sent to you by recorded delivery in October.

Note 2. A UCI is used to tie together all of your exam results. Therefore if you have sat exams in the UK previously it is important to give us your correct UCI. Your previous school should be able to give it to you, or you should be able to see it on previous results slips or exam entry slips. If you have a UCI it is important you find it – we cannot process your application without one. However, if you have never been given a UCI we will generate one for you. Note 3. Applying for Extra Time is now a strict process, and you must satisfy all requirements to be awaded it. Please provide the following information and evidence:  If you have a medical condition you must supply a letter stating your needs, and the reasons for them, from a Consultant. A GP’s letter is not sufficient.  If you have a learning difficulty, such as dyslexia, you must supply a completed Form 8, signed by the qualified assessor who performed your assessment. We can provide you with a blank Form 8 on request, but you are responsible for filling in all details and getting it signed. A copy of an assessment report from a psychologist is not sufficient to be granted extra time – you must supply a Form 8.  If you are unable to supply the above evidence no extra time will be given, even if you have received it at previous schools. The deadline for applying for extra time is 21st February. If evidence is not provided by this date Extra Time may not be given.

Note 4. The deadline for standard entries is noon on the 10th of February. After this time fees increase, as you will be counted as a late entry with the exam board. Sitting an IGCSE in Spanish, French or German costs more, as this will involve having an oral exam with a teacher, which we will schedule (usually for early in May). Likewise, sitting an oral unit in Spanish, French or German at A-level also costs more, as this involves being assessed by a teacher. In both cases you will have the chance of a ‘practice session’ with the teacher.

The new A-level system is being introduced for some subjects this year – these new courses involve ‘terminal’ examinations, i.e. you cannot carry marks forward from one year to another, and you cannot resit individual units. If you are studying the new AS or A Level syllabus you will be charged a single fee for the whole AS\A Level course, not per unit. Check the syllabus for details. You cannot apply to re-sit legacy exam papers unless you have previously sat and cashed in at A2.

Note 5. We offer exams from the exam boards Edexcel, OCR, AQA and WJEC. We do not offer IGCSEs from the Cambridge board.

We offer written papers only, as well as orals in some MFL subjects. We do not offer practical exams, and cannot submit coursework or GCSEs which contain any controlled assessment elements. At GCSE you cannot ‘carry forward’ your coursework marks from a previous year, but you can at A-level. Almost all standard GCSEs contain coursework of some kind, so most external students choose to sit IGCSEs instead (usually from Edexcel) – an IGCSE is equivalent to a GCSE, but they do not contain any coursework. Search online for details.

It is very important that you give us full details of the exams you wish to sit. Simply writing ‘Maths GCSE’ will not be accepted – there are at least 8 different Maths GCSEs that you can sit, each with different exams, requirements and contents. If you are resitting a paper look at your results slips and copy across the exam board and name of the paper you wish to sit. If you are sitting an exam for the first time speak to your tutor, or check the syllabus on the exam board’s website so that you can see the paper codes you will need.

Be aware that some exams have various options for their papers – e.g. in History there are often many different topics you can study, and you must specify not only the paper, but which option for that paper, you wish to sit. This is usually an extra letter you must add to the unit code. Copy this from previous results, or check the syllabus carefully.

Note 6. Cash-ins are only relevant if you are an A-level candidate. ‘Cashing in’ means taking your individual unit grades and producing an overall grade for the AS or A-level. You should normally do this if you have completed a qualification. If you are applying to university this year, it is very important you cash in all of the A-levels for which you are sitting, or resitting, a unit.

Important note: Once payment has been made NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION OR WITHDRAWAL, so please think carefully before applying. We also reserve the right to charge for invigilation where special arrangements involve additional personnel requirements e.g. use of a scribe. We cannot guarantee to accept every application from candidates requiring Access Arrangements, regardless of the date of the application.

I have read and accepted the above terms and conditions, and the information I have provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge.
