Thursday, November 21, 2013 1:00 – 2:30 PM Presentation: “How to Approach Managing a Variety of Risks” Presenter: Marshall Bohbrink, CFO, GROWMARK, Inc., Bloomington, IL (Lecture, Case Study and Open Discussion) This session will explore the complex topic of how cooperatives approach managing their variety of risk. Being able to minimize risk separates successful managers. Mr Bohbrink will offer a guide for addressing risk.

2:50 – 3:50 PM Presentation: “Affordable Care Act: What you need to know” Presenter: Shawn Dorgan, Director of Channels, Land of Lincoln Health, Chicago, IL (Lecture, Case Study and Open Discussion) This session will explain the do’s and don’ts for implementing the Affordable Care Act to cooperative Businesses. Shawn is a talented marketer of a new kind of health insurance and will explain the optimum approach for cooperative businesses.

3:50 – 5:15 PM Presentation: “Valuing Your Cooperative” Presenter: Kathleen Roberts, Manager, CoBank, Minneapolis, MN Presenter: Kim House, CFO, COBA/Select Sires, Columbus, OH Presenter: Michael Wehner, CFO, Cooperative Elevator, Pigeon, MI (Lecture, Case Study and Open Discussion) This goal of this session is to discuss approaches to managing the value of our cooperatives. The session will address how much equity your cooperative needs and various methods for the structure and ownership for that equity. 5:15 PM Adjourn

8:00 – 9:40 AM Presentation: “Cyber Crime and Payment Fraud” Presenter: Mark Eich, Partner, CliftonLarsonAllen, Minneapolis, MN This session will further explain the gaps in our IT and payment systems as we seek to conduct our cooperative business ‘online’ with our member/owners. This is a growing risk concern for all cooperatives with a presence on the web.
