Grades: Traditional homework will not be given in this class. However, students will be given suggested practice (along with answers) on a regular basis. This practice will not be graded and it is only used as a tool for students to master a concept. It is the student’s responsibility to determine if they need to complete the suggested practice in order to master the concept. There will be weekly homework posted on my website and in the classroom. Questions will be related to new concepts being taught as well as a review of previously taught concepts. Students will be allowed to turn in answers in person (paper copy) at the end of the period on Friday or by email before 9:00 pm on Friday night. A homework grade will be recorded each week. Students will be given assessments 1-2 times a week over the concepts currently being taught as well as those concepts previously taught. These grades will be recorded under the assessment category in the gradebook. Through this process, students will be demonstrating their mastery of Algebra concepts and their grade will be a direct representation of their Algebra 1 content knowledge. Bonus points will be awarded for being in class on time.
