CROOK & CHASE BIOGRAPHY

Lorianne Crook and Charlie Chase host The Crook & Chase Countdown, a nationally syndicated Country music program which broadcasts on more than 240 stations across the U.S. and Canada, and is also available on iHeartRadio. Each week on the four-hour weekend program, Lorianne and Charlie present the current top thirty songs as they conduct exclusive one-on-one interviews with the biggest stars in Country music, including Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, Rascal Flatts and many others. The Nashville-based program -- produced from the Crook and Chase studios on world-famous Music Row -- joined Premiere Networks’ lineup in October 2009, and since then, has continued to grow and receive industry recognition, including numerous nominations for both CMA and ACM Awards in the National Broadcast/On-Air Personality categories. Widely regarded as two of the top interviewers and hosts in the industry, Crook and Chase were inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in 2013. That same year, Chase was inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame. For six straight years, Crook has been honored by the national publication Radio Ink as one of the Most Influential Women in Radio. Having hosted successful radio and television programs together on a continuous basis for more than 30 years, Crook and Chase are one of the longest running broadcast duos in the history of the industry. Crook’s career in the spotlight began when she served as a news reporter for KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas, and soon became the PM Magazine co-host for the same station in 1980. In 1982, Crook was hired as PM Magazine co-host for WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tenn., where she co-wrote and co-produced two national, award-winning specials and was named “Outstanding Feature Reporter of the Year” by the American Women in Radio and Television. She subsequently won several medals at the New York Film Festival. A Tennessee native, Chase celebrates his 50th anniversary in broadcasting in 2016. His work in radio began at age 13, and set the stage for various on-air jobs before serving as program and music director in Kingsport, Knoxville, and later, Nashville, where he landed at the world famous WSM Radio. While at WSM, Chase began doing music reports for Channel 4 in Nashville, which led to being offered the host position for the station's long-running midday magazine program in 1982. --more--

That year, while Crook was hosting a program on the ABC television affiliate in Nashville, and Chase was hosting on a competing NBC affiliate, renowned television producer Jim Owens took notice and thought the personalities might work well together as a team reporting on Country music and its stars. In September of 1983, Crook and Chase debuted as hosts of the syndicated TV show This Week In Country Music. After successfully hosting the program for two years, the TNN network added the program in 1985 and it remained on the network exclusively until 1999. During those 16 years, Crook and Chase became two of the network's most popular and respected hosts, producing thousands of hours of programming, including The Crook & Chase Show, Crook & Chase Tonight, Music City Tonight with Crook & Chase, Celebrities Offstage, Funny Business, Today’s Country and countless award shows and specials. Much of their personal and professional history was documented in their 1995 autobiography Crook and Chase: Our Lives, The Music, And The Stars.
