Slinger Cross Country 2013 Meet schedule (Note these times are tentative, based on the 2012 schedule. Please check with your son/daughter the day before each meet for this year’s time schedule).

August 29 - Kettle Moraine Lutheran Invitational 3:00 pm Course opens/Check-in Begins, 4:00 pm Boys JV Race, 4:30 pm Boys Varsity Race 5:00 pm Girls Varsity Race, 5:30 pm Girls JV race, 6:00 pm Awards 6:45/7:00 pm Return to Slinger H.S. Directions to KML H.S. The high school is on County Hwy G about 2 miles east of Jackson. Take Hwy 60 east through Jackson. Turn right (south) on “G” about 0.5 miles. School is on the right. The course starts on the soccer field, which is to the west of the school.

September 6 - West Allis Hale Invitational (at Greenfield Park) 4:30 pm JV girls race 5:00 pm JV boys race 5:30 pm Varsity Girls Race 6:00 Varsity Boys Race @7:45 Return to Slinger High School Directions to Greenfield Park (Our info sheet told us to enter on Lincoln Ave. near 118th St.) US-41 S. US-41 S becomes US-45 S. Merge onto W Lincoln Ave. The park is between 118th and 124th streets on your right.

September 13 - Mayville Invitational 4:00 pm Middle School Race (25 Jr. High ribbons) 4:20 pm Girls (All girls) 4:50 pm Boys (All boys) 6:30 pm Arrive at Slinger High School Directions to Mayville Country Club The course is on County Hwy Y just east of Mayville. Take Hwy 175 north to Hwy 33 then go west on 33 about 6 miles to County AY. Turn right (north) on “AY” about 2 miles to “Y”. Go west (left) about 2 miles on “Y”. The course is on the left. Parking is available past the golf course parking lot in the park. (Park by the baseball field) Do NOT park in the Country Club parking lot. The course is below the hill.

September 21 - Waukesha South Invitational (at Minooka Park) Race schedule: 7:15 am Bus Leaves 9:00 am JV boys race 9:45 am JV girls race 10:30 am Varsity boys Race 11:00 Varsity girls Race Awards ceremony at 11:45 Possible stop at McDonalds (or other) @1:00 pm.. Return to Slinger High School (if food stop return at about 1:45) If parents/friends want to avoid the fee, they can park off of Racine Avenue and 'walk' into the park. Directions to Minooka Park …….. Take WI-164 S. Pass through 1 roundabout. 20.0 mi. September 28 - Laser Relays (at Nagawaukee Park) 7:00 Be at school to check out sweats 7:15 Bus leaves Slinger High School 7:50 Arrive at Laser Invite 9:00 Girls JV Race 9:30 Girls 5, 6, 7, 8 Race 10:00 Girls 1, 2, 3, 4 Race 10:30 Boys 5, 6, 7, 8 Race 11:00 Boys 1, 2, 3, 4 Race 11:30 Boys JV Race 12:00 Leave 1:00 Arrive back at Slinger Directions: Take 60 West to CC South. Then take CC South to E. Turn right on E. Turn left on K going South. This will take you into Monches. The road is now in Waukesha Country so the road name changes to E. Once you are past the pond, take a right and stay on this road (E) to Hwy 16 in Hartland. This is just past Hartland Arrowhead High School. Go West on 16 and exit at Hwy 83. Go South on 83 about 2-3 miles and the park is on the right hand side. There is a parking fee ($3.00). (The meet will be held at the Naga- Waukee County Park. The directions from I-94 are; The park is located 1/2 mile north of I-94 on highway 83. Take I-94, exit Wales and take 83 north.)

October 3 - Slinger Owl Invitational (at Homestead Hollow Park) 4:00 pm Jr. High race 4:20 pm Div. Directions: Take US 41 south to Holy Hill Rd (Hwy 167 west) exit. Turn left (east) about 1 mile to Y. Turn right (south) about 1 mile to Friestadt Rd. Turn left (east) about 0.3 miles. Park is on the left.

October 10 - Port Washington Invitational (at Tendrick Park) Time Schedule: 2:20 Bus leaves, 3:10 Bus arrives at Tendick Park 4:00 Girls JV race 4:30 Boys Varsity race 5:00 Girls Varsity race 5:30 Boys JV race Awards program to follow 7:30 Arrive at Slinger (approximately) Directions to Tendick County Park near Port Washington. The course is on County Hwy O on the northwest side of Saukville. Take Hwy 60 through Jackson and almost to Grafton, go north on Hwy I (just past 5 corners). Cross Hwy 33 about one more mile then go east on O (about 2 miles). The park is on the right. **Parking is very limited. Parents: This year they are not letting any spectators park in the lot at the park. They are going to direct you to a parking lot ½ miles away and they will shuttle you in. So make sure you figure in extra time to get there.

October 19 - Wisconsin Little Ten Conference Meet (Beaver Dam H.S.) hosted by Beaver Dam Timeline: Bus leaves at 8:10 10:00 am JV races 11:20 am Varsity races Awards to follow: Right after the last race Directions to Beaver Dam H.S. Take Hwy 33 west to Beaver Dam. Just west of Hwy 151 turn right on School St. (.3 mi). Turn left on Gould St. (.1 mi)

October 24 - Meet of Future Champions (at Rotary Park, Men. Falls) (This meet is for all runners not running in the WIAA Sectional Meet) 2:05 bus leaves promptly 2:30 Arrive at Rotary Park 3:15 boys fast race 3:45 girls fast race 4:15 boys faster race 4:45 girls faster race We will try to let you know which race you are in by noon on Thursday. Directions to Rotary Park: To get to Rotary Park, take Menomonee Avenue from Pilgrim Road (from the north) to MacArthur Drive and the park.

October 25 - WIAA Sectional (this is the qualifying meet for State) Time Schedule: 1:25 bus leaves ‘2:40 arrive at Lake Breeze golf course, warm ups can begin 3:15 Coaches meeting; 4:00 Boys’ Race; 4:45 Girls’ Race; 5:30 Awards Ceremony 6:00 Leave the golf course 6:30 Stop to eat 8:00 pm Arrive back at school Directions: From UW Highway 41 take Highway 45. Head West on Hwy 45. Take the Hwy. 116 Exit and go left under the overpass. Take a right (it is a very, very short distance after the underpass!!) onto Ball Prairie Road and that will take you to the golf course. Travel time is approximately 15 minutes from Hwy. 41. The Golf Course will be charging a $5 parking fee / vehicle for this event

November 2 - WIAA State Meet (Wisconsin Rapids)
