DESCRIPTION

This is work creating or reproducing exhibit cases, mounts, hand-made, and other furnishings and accessories for exhibition using a variety of artisan techniques.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

Produces foreground, models and accessories for dioramas, both life-size and to scale.

Restores and cleans specimens and/or frames requiring extreme care in handling.

Creates original diorama models.

Molds and casts using a variety of methods, dioramas and specimen cases and artifact mounts using appropriate methods for preservation of materials.

Designs and produces case and panel systems.

Determines the historic items which are to be reproduced and the historic methods used to reproduce them.

Oversees matting and framing works of art.

Hangs and installs works of art requiring extreme care in handling.

Reproduces historic items from pictures, descriptions, historical research, fragments of original objects and sketches.

Sells items reproduced to the general public.

Provides information to the general public on history of structure in which craftsmen are located.
