<p> Job Family: 27-0000 Arts, Design and Media Occupational Group: 27-1010 Artists and Designers</p><p>OCCUPATION PROFILE</p><p>JOB FAMILY: ARTS, DESIGN AND MEDIA</p><p>OCCUPATIONAL GROUP: ARTISTS AND DESIGNERS</p><p>OCCUPATION: CRAFT ARTISTS 27-1012</p><p>BROADBAND LEVELS: Level 2– Pay Band 004</p><p>DESCRIPTION</p><p>This is work creating or reproducing exhibit cases, mounts, hand-made, and other furnishings and accessories for exhibition using a variety of artisan techniques.</p><p>EXAMPLES OF WORK</p><p>Produces foreground, models and accessories for dioramas, both life-size and to scale.</p><p>Restores and cleans specimens and/or frames requiring extreme care in handling.</p><p>Creates original diorama models.</p><p>Molds and casts using a variety of methods, dioramas and specimen cases and artifact mounts using appropriate methods for preservation of materials.</p><p>Designs and produces case and panel systems. </p><p>Determines the historic items which are to be reproduced and the historic methods used to reproduce them.</p><p>Oversees matting and framing works of art.</p><p>Hangs and installs works of art requiring extreme care in handling.</p><p>Reproduces historic items from pictures, descriptions, historical research, fragments of original objects and sketches.</p><p>Sells items reproduced to the general public.</p><p>Provides information to the general public on history of structure in which craftsmen are located.</p><p>Page 1 of 4 Demonstrates the craft involved to the general public and answers any questions concerning this craft.</p><p>EXAMPLES OF JOB CHARACTERISTICS</p><p>Thinking Creatively Originating, inventing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.</p><p>Getting Information Needed to Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining Do the Job information from all relevant sources.</p><p>Estimating Needed Estimating the Characteristics of Materials, Characteristics Products, Events, or Information: Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities, or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
