Job Title Community Fundraiser Reports to Head of Regional Fundraising Location Home Based Hours 35 hours per week Purpose  Generating community fundraising income and promoting public awareness of DEBRA and EB in the surrounding area.

Community Fundraiser Responsibilities

 To achieve income targets for Community Fundraising.  To represent DEBRA by giving talks and presentations about the work of the Charity.  To support and help to develop supporter groups that will organise Community Fundraising on a sustainable basis.

Main Activities  Develop, maintain and grow external relationships with key community groups such as Golf Clubs, Masonic Lodges, Rotary groups, schools and Small to medium Businesses  Effectively relationship manage existing portfolio of contacts using ‘Progress’ data base and DEBRA contact strategy to ensure that supporters are retained, continue to offer support and recommend DEBRA  Work in a collaborative way with other teams to share ideas, best practices and achieve work results  Develop and implement new Fundraising Ideas to support growth in the Area  Implement Fundraising Plan to achieve income target set for 2016/2017  Use all forms of social media to enhance communication with new and existing supporters  Engage with the DEBRA EB Family community and develop strong and meaningful relationships that may lead to Fundraising opportunities  Attend regular team meetings and be prepared to present and share ideas with colleagues and senior management  To ensure compliance with DEBRA procedures and fundraising law in all fundraising and profile raising activities.  Be proactive with seeking ways to promote DEBRA in the local press and broadcasting, with support from Regional Manager.

Functional Expertise – Presents advanced administration and IT skills, demonstrating accuracy, attention to detail and appropriate discretion; continues to develop skills in the pursuit of excellence.

Planning and Organising – Plans ahead and applies effective time management techniques to ensure deadlines are met.

Positive Disposition – Demonstrates enthusiasm, self-motivation and initiative.

Adaptability – Demonstrates a flexible approach to work, and prioritises conflicting demands to meet objectives.

Communication – Communicates effectively at all levels, and both oral and written communication is both clear and accurate.

Experience – 2 years minimum work experience in fundraising, sales, marketing or PR.
