This is a one day HSE funded workshop for OT, SLT and Dietician managers.

Aims of the Training

 Understand the principles of effective business planning.  To be proficient linking business plans with strategy  To gain knowledge on resource based business planning  To influence key stakeholders with succinct, comprehensive business plans.

Program  Strategy and Business Planning in the public sector  Principles of Effective Business Planning: Approaches and Toolkits  Resource-based Planning  Plans as Tools for Stakeholder Management  Action Planning: Applying the learning

Format  Presentations on concepts, approaches and case studies  Opportunities to review templates and planning tools  Workshop sessions to identify opportunities to transfer/apply learning to practice  A high level of interaction to enhance peer learning across the group

Workshop Facilitator

Angelo McNeive: Senior Associate, Institute of Public Administration.

Angelo is a business psychologist and facilitator and specialist trainer with over 20 years experience in a variety of management, consulting and leadership roles both nationally and internationally. Angelo is an Associate Specialist with the IPA and previously held a position as a Senior Management Specialist at the Institute. Angelo has worked extensively across the public sector in the areas of project management, process improvement, business leadership and organisational development, and facilitation.

His most recent engagements include a strategy development exercise with one of the larger local authorities in Ireland, a strategy review with the East and Midlands Regional Authority and acting as consultant on a Business Process Improvement Project for Eurofound – an agency of the European Union. He is currently working on a project to develop a short intervention course on Innovation in Public Service Delivery.

He has delivered many different training courses in the public and private sectors including project management, business process improvement, facilitation skills, leadership, conflict management and team development.

Angelo was responsible for developing and launching a number of project management programmes including the Certificate and Professional Diploma in Project Management offered by the IPA and accredited by UCD. He delivers extensively on these and other programmes for the IPA both in Ireland and abroad.

Who can Apply?

 OT, SLT and Dietician managers

 Members and non-members of the professional bodies are welcome to apply.

 Those working in publicly funded positions will be given priority.

 Managers who can demonstrate relevance of this training to their practice

 Go to www.aoti.ie under ‘News and Events’ tab. Go to ‘Upcoming Events’  Click on event. Complete online registration and payment of Twenty Euro

 Early applications are encouraged. Places are very limited. Applications will close on 8th September, 2015 at 5pm. Applications will close prior to this date if places are filled with suitable applicants.

Other Information

 Places are limited.  Incomplete applications will not be accepted.  Applying for place and payment of Twenty Euro booking fee does not guarantee you a place at this workshop. You will be notified if you have been successful gaining a place at the workshop.  If a very large number of applications are received unsuccessful applicants may not be notified. If this occurs an update will be placed on the AOTI website as a news item to advise that the applications have been processed and successful applicants informed.  Suitable applicants who are not allocated a place will automatically be placed on a waiting list and contacted if vacancies arise.  If you are not offered a place at the workshop your Twenty Euro Payment will be refunded  We may contact participants who attended the workshop to invite them to prepare a small reflection on the workshop for the AOTI newsletter.
