GRADUATE NONRESIDENT FEE REMISSION

Overview The Office of Graduate Studies is authorized by the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System to offer remission of nonresident portions of tuition costs to selected students. The availability of these funds is contingent upon legislative appropriation. These funds are reserved specifically for graduate students with nonresident status and are distributed on the basis of academic performance. Funds will be distributed Fall, Spring and Summer terms. Final decisions as to the awarding of these funds are made by authorized officials of the University.

Eligibility Applicants must have a “nonresident” status, enrolled in a graduate degree program at UW-Whitewater in “good standing”, and registered for at least nine (9) credits in the term seeking a remission, (at least five during summer term). Applicants must not be under contract as a graduate assistant—or if working as a graduate assistant, under contract for less than 14 hours per week. Online Courses are not eligible for a fee remission.

Application To apply for a nonresident fee remission, applicants must complete the application on the reverse side.

Application Applicants must apply each term (Fall, Spring, Summer) they Deadline desire a remission. Completed applications must be submitted by 4:30pm to the Office of Graduate Studies (2015 Roseman) by the following dates:  Fall Term 2017 (Application Deadline: 18 August 2017)  Spring Term 2018 (Application Deadline: 12 January 2018)  Summer Term 2018 (Application Deadline: 11 May 2018)

Applicants will be informed as to the status of the awards after the tenth day of classes for each term.

Selection Officials of the Office of Graduate Studies will review applications Criteria and make remission recommendations to the Office of Student Financial Services based on: 1. the availability of funds; 2. the academic record of the student, or the academic promise
