SEMEN FREEZING FEES (FOR EXPORT)

BOARD UNDER QUARANTINE ($31.00/day) $ 930.00 Includes care for the horse under international quarantine (every 30 days) guidelines. Turnout in isolation paddock will be available.

QUARANTINE PROCEDURES (Using ERC staff and Affiliated Veterinarian)

For the Stallion (1) While in full erection, collect cultures from the prepuce, urethral ~$ 225.00 orifice, sinus and fossa glandis on Days 7 (Aus), 14 and 21 of quarantine period. This testing is for CEM. (2) On Day 21 of quarantine period, blood is drawn and tested for the presence of EIA, EVA and vesicular stomatitis. (3) On Days 7, 14 and 21 of quarantine period, semen samples are ~$ 315.00 collected and tested for CEM and other tests for ERC purposes (semen evaluation, morphology, other bacterial pathogens).

Once all culture and blood tests are negative then semen freezing may proceed.

For Teaser Mare (if applicable) ~$ 75.00 (1) Culturing the clitoral fossa and sinuses, endometrium (if applicable) of uterus, and cervix on Days 7, 14 and 21 of quarantine period.

QUARANTINE LABORATORY FEES ~$ 550.00 - 900.00 Includes shipping and processing of at least 12 cultures samples (w/mare) (21 if teaser mare is used), 3 blood samples and 2 semen samples.

STATE FEES ~$ 375.00 Includes state veterinarian inspection of facility and procedures.

SEMEN FREEZING (UNDER QUARANTINE) $ 340.00/collection Includes semen processing and freezing from one collection under international quarantine guidelines.

BREEDING DOSE $ 10.00/dose This fee only applies if the semen is deemed acceptable for export. This is based on 30% progressive motility upon post-thaw evaluation. PREPRINTED FREEZING STRAWS (400 count) $ 85.00

SEMEN SHIPMENT FEES $ 175.00 - 300.00 Processing of Paperwork Includes applying for the Import Permit and obtaining the international health certificate. All lab reports and verification of collection center’s approval for semen export will be attached.

Shipment of Container $ 800.00 - 1,200.00 An independent shipping agent will be involved to help facilitate process of container for export. This cost includes completing paperwork, renting or purchasing semen container and airline fees to send shipment.

APPROXIMATE COST FOR SEMEN FREEZING UNDER QUARANTINE

First 30 days (for quarantine board and testing) ~ $ 2,650.00

Second 30 days (~96 doses frozen) ~ $ 6,050.00 (for quarantine board and semen freezing, costs assume the average stallion will be collected 3 times/week and yield an average of 8 doses/collection)

Shipping Fees (for paperwork, container, airline fees) ~ $ 1,250.00

Total ~ $ 9,950.00 (equates to ~ $100.00/dose)
