Make up Work for Mr

Name: Class: Reason:

Make up work for P.E.

Pick one assignment to complete. This is due one week from the date it was assigned as you enter PE class, no exceptions.

1. Select and read an article (the article should be at least two pages of reading) from a magazine, journal, or webpage that has something to do with sport, recreation, fitness, nutrition, or sports injuries. Then write a review of the article. In the review you should describe the main points of the article (who, what, when, where, why), with at least three supporting details. The review should close with a paragraph describing your personal opinion of the article: How/why this information is valuable or not valuable and how does this apply to my life in the real world or to other people, etc. There is no specific length for this paper, I’m looking for quality writing and that all items are included fluidly.  The article should come from a health, fitness, or medically driven source. For example an article about dieting found in “People Magazine” is not an appropriate source. Furthermore, a copy of the article must accompany the review.  Summarizing a sporting event is not appropriate.

2. Type a two-page, double-spaced paper on the unit in which you are currently involved in PE or your favorite sport/recreational activity. Include the history, how the activity affects one’s fitness level, and some current information on the activity.

3. Pick a quote or poster from the gym to write about. In your paper you need to include: the poster you chose, why you chose it, what it means to you, how you can use its meaning today, how you can use its meaning in the future, what it means for your health, any concept/component or skill involved. There is no specific length for this paper, I’m looking for quality writing and that all items are included fluidly.

4. Complete 60 minutes of activity outside of the school day for each P.E. class you missed. Log the activity in the space provided. Include the date, type of activity, length of time participated in activity, and parent/guardian signature. DATE ACTIVITY TIME PARTICIPATED
