FASHION (Michela Guasco, Fashion Editor)

FASHION (Michela Guasco, fashion editor) The strongest trend at Milan Fashion Week has been a sort of hippie chic. Denim and patchwork of leather and fur at Gucci, rich embrideries and suede at Pucci, flowy chiffon dresses @ Alberta Ferretti and white on white at Cavalli. Even Prada that had a more retro approach had all the models wearing very high wood heeled clogs. Another strong idea was a new version of minimal chic: boysh at Jil Sander, feminine @ Sportmax, sporty @ Bottega Veneta. New details: stylized flowers at Fendi, Tods and Max Mara. Unfinished hems at Prada and Sportmax.

BEAUTY (Paola Spezi, junior beauty editor) First thing to consider: buy tons of black mascara. Our make up will be like Twiggy in the Sixties: thick eyeliner and a touch of rétro. If you want a twist, go grey: we have more than 50 shades of metal! If you’re not that kind of girl, go nude and match your perfect skin with a red lipstick. Hairstyle: be boysh, that’s the trend. Long hair? Consider the “tie and dye effect”, and play with colors.

MUSIC (Anna Santini, lifestyle editor, & music contributors) Rappers and teen-bands will be among the italians' favorites. Two names are linked to the italian talent shows: Fedez (rapper and tv celebrity at “X Factor Italy”) and Dear Jack (the italian One Direction, born during another talent, “Amici”).

FOOD (Anna Santini, lifestyle editor) To be cool, this season, you have to go natural. Leave the city and enjoy dishes by the all natural chefs like Enrico Crippa at “Piazza Duomo” in Alba (http://www.piazzaduomoalba.it), or Riccardo Gaspari at “El Brite” in Cortina d'Ampezzo (http://www.elbritedelarieto.it/). If you’re in Milan the go to restaurant today is “Carlo e Camilla in Segheria” (www.carloecamillainsegheria.it), supervised by the italian hottest chef Carlo Cracco. At home, the main trends are fermented foods (from sourdough to kimchi, or DIY seitan), crudism and veganism (we’re a little bit late on this).
