VILLAGE THEATRE ANNOUNCES 2006-2007 MAINSTAGE SEASON A Season of Award-winning Shows!
Everett and Issaquah, WA—Village Theatre is pleased to announce its 2006-2007 Mainstage Season, comprised of five unique and unforgettable shows that among them account for 17 Tony Awards and over 3,000 Broadway performances. Filled with entertaining musical comedies and dramas from theatre’s most highly- acclaimed creators, the 2006-2007 Season explores tales of love, loss, and life, of tears and triumph, of hope and heroism, of the foundations of family, and of the perils of fame. “We are thrilled to bring a little of the unexpected to stage this season,” said Robb Hunt, executive producer for Village Theatre. “As we continue to stretch ourselves creatively and reach out to new audiences, this season will entertain and move people of all ages, demonstrating our versatility and commitment to delivering the high-quality professional shows theatre goers have come to expect from Village Theatre.” Village Theatre’s 2006-2007 Mainstage Season includes the following: EVITA Lyrics by Tim Rice Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber Issaquah: September 13-October 22, 2006 Everett: October 27-November 12, 2006 From the creators of Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat, this Tony Award-winning masterpiece sets the story of Argentina’s beloved, controversial Eva Peron to an irresistible Latin beat. This stirring tale of one strong woman’s rise from poverty to power is a bracing journey of redemption, and a moving meditation on the perils of pride and fame. Fascinating history and riveting romance make for a captivating musical you’ll never forget.

About Village Theatre Based in Issaquah, WA, Village Theatre is a leading producer of musical theatre in the Pacific Northwest. What began in 1979 with the vision of a small group of dedicated theatre artists has grown into one of the region's best-attended Equity theatres, with over 16,500 subscribers to the current season and 165,000 projected total attendance, performances on seven stages in the Puget Sound area, youth education programs serving over 53,000 young people, families, and schools annually, and a nationally recognized program that has enabled the development of over 55 new musicals.
