- Until the age of four I lived in Ljubljana, Slovenia - In the spring of 1975 I moved with my parents to Munich, FRG, where my father worked as a wrought-iron craftsman

EDUCATION: - From September 1977 till June 1981 I visited the primary school Grundschule an der Dachauerstraße in Munich, FRG - From September 1981 till June 1985 I visited the high school (grammar school) Luisengymnasium in Munich, FRG - In the autumn of 1985 I returned to Slovenia and enrolled to the Secondary School for Health-care in the town of Novo mesto, Slovenia, which I finished in June 1985 - In September of the same year I enrolled to the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana, where I studied English and German – both as main subjects - The winter semester of 1993/94 I studied at the Institute for translators and interpreters of the Karl-Franzens Universität in Graz (Austria); - In September 1995 I graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana in due course

EMPLOYMENT: ▪ during my studies I pursued different jobs as a free-lancer, and continued to work as such after my graduation in 1995 as well. Some of the jobs I did were: - translating for different agencies and interpreting at seminars - translating for different firms, such as e.g. Schering Plough, Prevent, etc. - translating and reading news and traffic reports for tourists, as well as presenting bilingual radio broadcasts on the national radio station Radio Slovenia - translating, dubbing and presenting the TV-show 'Slovenian Magazine' at the Slovene national television Televizija Slovenia (the show is a presentation of Slovenia, broadcast on satellite TV)

▪ after my graduation in September 1995, started working as a teacher of German at the BERLITZ language school in Ljubljana, and in the autumn of 1996 parallel also as a teacher of English at the Educational Centre Miklošič in the same city. ▪ in 1997 – while studying for one semester at Vienna university – I worked for the – Lerninstitut AFM – an institute, providing help to students with learning difficulties in some particular school subjects; ▪ parallel to that I also taught German to foreigners living in Vienna, at BERLITZ language school in Vienna – again in the role of a native speaker of that language; ▪ from March 1998 until November 2000 worked as a teacher of German the Gimnazija Bežigrad high school in Ljubljana, where I was teaching within the national high-school program, as well as in the program of the International Baccalaureate Organization, attended by children of diplomats and other foreigners living in Slovenia, which is being conducted in English; ▪ from April to December 1998 I did, additionally to my regular work at school, an internship in the local Branch Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees; where I got to know in details not only the function of the UNHCR, but also how to deal with the specific problems of refugees, as well as the overall approach of the UN-System. ▪ from November 2000 until summer 2001 I worked as an advisor in the NATO/EU- Section of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia; in summer 2001 I was transferred to the Section for multilateral cooperation of the same Sector and was promoted to the rank of Senior Advisor. ▪ In October 2003 I finally had the chance to start my own business and worked as a freelance translator and language teacher. I was translating for several Slovenian and foreign companies from and into the German and English languages, as well as I taught English and German at YURENA language school in Novo mesto, Slovenia. ▪ In the autumn of 2004 I received an offer from the Translations Centre for the Bodies of the EU in Luxembourg to work for them as a translator. I accepted this offer and started working there at the beginning of 2005. Because of this job my husband and I moved to Luxembourg, where we live at present. ▪ My contract with the CdT ran out on 31 December 2007. ▪ At present I work as a freelance translator for several clients.

MARITAL STATUS: - On 6 November 2004 I married Tomislav Šulina;

CHILDREN: - Our son Eugen was born on 2 November 2005;

LANGUAGES: - Slovene and German - both are my mother tongues - English - reading, speaking and writing fluently - Croatian - reading, speaking and writing fluently - French – basic reading and understanding - Italian – basic reading and understanding
