Shoes There are several extra pairs of women’s blue suede shoes. If more are needed for sizing there are more unpainted character shoes in storage that can be painted. The men’s blue suede shoes are from Wal-Mart. The style number and information is located on the boxes. For the rest of the show, the ensemble should not all be in character shoes. There are several pairs of Keds and loafers for the women. They will need coordinating socks. There are also many pairs of men’s shoes in stock. Due to the nature of our dance pad sometimes shoes stick to the floor. The cobbler in Prestonsburg can grind the tread down on thes hoes and that makes them slick enough to dance on the dance pad. For Jailhouse, the men can wear jazz shoes or even jazz sneakers. Everyone in the show should wear blue suedes for the finale. Natalie needs two pair, one men’s and one women’s.

Hair and Wigs The women can wear their hair in any style appropriate to the period (pulled back in ponytails, with a headband, barrettes on the side, partially pulled up). Matilda is being played by the same actress that was at Derby Dinner Playhouse. She should style her hair the same way she did there. Se has hats that were not worn at Derby, but she should not alter the hair style. The African American actresses might request wigs. There are some wigs in stock, but not sure if any appropriate color for them. We order wigs from Wig America. There should be color ring and catalogs there in the costume shop. The other group of women that need wigs are the three church ladies. These wigs can probably be pulled.

Accessories Any accessories that you would like to add such as jewelry, belts, hair accessories, or hats are fine with me. There are some hats in a basket on a shelf in the costume shop. All three church ladies should also have hats. There is a belt that goes on the royal blue dress worn by Female 6. It was removed at Derby and needs to be reattached for the JWT production. There are also corsages, buttoneers, and bouquets for the wedding. They can be attached to the costumes by pinning with a safety pin or tacking them on so they can be removed for cleaning.

Tagging There are some more of the tags that we printed on the shelf near the phone in the shop. Any new items should be tagged and added to the inventory. Please keep everything labeled by character name or number. The actors personal name should not be written on the tag for future rentals. The tags are self stick, but should be stitched in as well. Missing Pieces The shirt that Chad wears for most of the show might need to be replaced. It is a sleeveless t-shirt that has some lycra in the fabric content. IT should fit very tight. Also, Natalie needs a baseball t-shirt. Not picky about the color of the shirt. The one at Derby is black and white. I am not sure if it will come to JWT, I think it was purchased by Derby. Also, the girl playing Natalie at Derby is a huge sweater so it might need to be replaced anyway. The men in Devil in Disguise will also need t-shirts. They can be whatever color that Dana would like. Jim will also need a t-shirt to wear under his leather jacket. There will be several items of mens clothing missing for the wedding scene. We pulled several pieces from Derby’s stock that will not be coming to JWT. Not all the men in the wedding need to have jackets. There are suits and coats that I pulled and purchased, but if they don’t work for sizing, feel free to pull or purchase new ones. The thrift store in town has a decent selection. They need to all stay within the blue color scheme that we have chosen for this scene.

Alterations Most of the new constructed costumes are made to be altered at the side seams. They also have several extra inches of seam allowance for alterations. The pink suit that Matilda wears will need to be altered. She did not wear it at Derby, but the wedding dress and coat have been altered to fit her. The biggest alteration problem will be Miss. Sandra. The woman at Derby did not wear any of the costumes I designed except the wedding gown. The Magenta dress and jacket will just need to be fitted and altered. There has been a lace panel added to the neckline, but I would prefer it be removed. The coral and black polka dot dress will also need to be taken in. The black bust section of the dress might not work with the alterations because the center front seam might need to come in. The piece can be replaced with a black bra that would be attached to the dress. The wedding gown will also need to be taken in and the panel that is added to the bust of that dress needs to be removed as well. I would like to add a bra to this dress as well if possible. There is extra fabric there from the dress that can be added to the bra to make it match. Cindy Wheat is very familiar with these alterations when I was in Kentucky. Also, when making alterations, do not cut any extra fabric from costumes unless you have to.
