Treasurer Report The treasurer report was distributed by Sara. Accounts are all in balance. We are under budget. We are waiting on the bills from field trips to come in for K-4.
Committee Reports:
Book Fair – The next book fair will run May 5-11th. The book fair has done horrible this year only bringing in $898. If we do not do better in the fall we will not be able to have money for the Scholastic Readers. For the BOGO fair we will have class time to shop as well as time to chop at the concerts. Mrs. Heyl brought up that students used to receive $1 Scholastic for each child. Is there any way we can get back to that? Kim is going to check on that and see what we can do.
Fundraisers – The Sarris fundraiser will begin on February 6 and run until February 21. We will also have the color-a-thon that is supposed to be in May. We are waiting to hear back from Paul Cessar to see if we are able to obtain a rider on the insurance policy.
School Store-The school store has been a success. We are adding shirts that will cost $10 for youth small to adult Large and the adult XL and XXL will be $12. Water bottles are also available as well as pencils, pens and other basics.
Box tops – The box top contest was won by the 1st graders in the fall. The spring contest will be an accumulative contest. We received a check in the amount of $1600 for our box tops.
1 Assemblies-We had the Carnegie Science Center assembly which was a free assembly because of our fundraisers. There is still a balance of $1500 that can be used for assemblies if there are any ideas.
New Business-Mrs. Heyl wanted to know if there will be a field day. Field day this year will be k-2 on May 30 and 3-5 on May 31st in the am. Julie encouraged all teachers to communicate with their assigned liaison if there are any questions or concerns. It was suggested that a summary of board minutes be posted in the mail room so that teachers can be kept up to date on happenings in the board when there is not a public meeting. We can also give the summary to Dr. Shulsky for her to post on the site. We will also begin setting all public meetings at the beginning of the year so that everyone is informed on when they will take place.
Motion to adjourn by Jessica, Sara seconded, all in favor. 8:35 am
Next Board Meeting – March 10 at 9 am
Next Public Meeting –will occur in April date to be determined at March 10 meeting.
