IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING GRADE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.

 eLion has a 15-minute timeout feature. If there is no submission to the system for 15 minutes, eLion will not accept a submit command until you log back in. Therefore, be sure you have calculated the grades and are ready to enter them once you open the grading screen.  To avoid being timed out, it might help to input half of the grades, submit, and go back to enter the other half.  The grades you submit are the final grades for the student. Once you submit them, they cannot be changed through the grading screen and the student has immediate access to their grades. It is imperative that you are sure you have entered the correct grades before you hit submit.  Once you have submitted, go back to the grading screen to make sure the grades posted and you were not timed out. It is a good idea to print a copy after you have submitted and gone back into the grading screen.

10  The grade roster available on eLion is the official record of students currently enrolled.  If there is a student that has attended class, but is not listed on the roster contact your Center immediately.  Incomplete grades (I) may be assigned when a student is doing satisfactory work, has completed the majority of their work, and the reasons given are acceptable to the faculty member. Incomplete work is counted as a failure (F) if the work is not made up by the deadline the instructor has assigned, but in no event later than the end of the following semester.  Students that have withdrawn from the class will not appear on the roster. Therefore you will never enter a W grade.  Do not issue a W grade to any student. To receive a W the student must properly withdraw from the course. When this is done a W grade is automatically issued. This system relieves the instructor of the responsibility of issuing a W, so please do not issue a W grade to any student.  All students on the roster must receive a grade. Do not leave any blank.

After grading is complete, click Submit to complete the process.

It is highly recommended that you access the grading section again to confirm all grades are entered correctly and print a copy.
