POSITION TITLE: SPORT MEDIA TEAM MEMBER

Position Outline: As a member of the Sport Media Team, you will be responsible to capture still photos and/or film of sport competition, teams and attend special social events as required. Photos and content captured will be used for Social Media, RMIT website and any other relevant marketing collateral.

There are positions available for media team members for both the Southern University Games in July and the Australian University Games in September.

Remuneration: The role of the UniGames Media staff member is a volunteer position. However, the medial team will be compensated by a fully subsidised event. This includes:  All accommodation covered  All flights to the Games  Team Merchandise  Two team Dinners

What it doesn’t include: AUS Registration, transport at the event, opening ceremony. Written and verbal references can be provided upon request, post event.

Reporting Line: The UniGames Media Staff report to the University Team Manager (herein referred to as the UTM).

Preferred Requirements: Studying towards: Photography, media, communications, advertising.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Prior to the Games: 1. Meet with the UTM to clarify role and gain awareness of the event. 2. Organise photography equipment, AV loans available at RMIT. 3. You may also be required to attend some team training sessions.

During the Games: 4. Get to as many sports as possible as directed by the UTM. General requirements include: a good mix of landscape and portrait shots, action shots, team photos, a mix of close up and distance shots and crowd/audience interactions. 5. Allow time each afternoon to edit and delete unwanted photos, and post select photos on social media. 6. While the Media team is encouraged to join the rest of the team in the social program, it is expected that all media staff be well rested and alert to undertake their duties to the best of their ability. Should this not occur, media staff will be dismissed and sent home.

After the Games: 7. Within 3 days of the completion of the event - Provide the 3 best images from each sport to the UTM. 8. Within 2 weeks of the completion of the event - Provide all remaining images to the UTM. 9. Provide suggestions to assist the UTM to run a more efficient and effective media team at the games. Name:
