PRACTICAL EXERCISE 1

AUGUST 2016 STUDENT INSTRUCTIONS

OBJECTIVE: This practical exercise measures your ability to review the personnel readiness data of the Commander Unit Status Report (CUSR) in the role as a Brigade S-1. You will demonstrate your knowledge of personnel readiness data of the CUSR by answering questions about CUSR Reporting Levels and accurately reviewing calculations of personnel measurement areas of the CUSR.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Ensure that your name, rank, social security number, class number, and date are on your answer sheet.

2. This practical exercise consists of three parts. Part I consists of 12 multiple choice questions and two matching questions about the Commander’s Unit Status Reports. Part II consists of six questions about specific calculations that would be done without an automated USR. Part III consist of four questions requiring student to access the eMILPO Training Database and submit transactions pertinate to the USR. These questions require you to analyze the source documents provided and to compute various requested information.

3. ALL WORK ON THIS PRACTICAL EXERCISE MUST BE ON YOUR OWN. You may NOT communicate with other students, give or receive assistance, make record of your answers anywhere but on your answer sheet, or pass on information about this practical exercise to other students.

4. You will have 90 minutes in which to complete this practical exercise. Once you have completed the PE, bring your PE answer sheet, PE Supplement and any scratch paper to the instructor and exit the classroom until the designated critique time. Your newly assigned SFC Smith says he has lots of experience dealing with CUSRs. As the senior warrant you decided to give him a chance to review the draft CUSR for the 3rd Armored Battalion before inputting into NetUSR. You also gave him supporting documents (AAA-162 and Unit Orders) to assist with the process. After he finishes his review you will need to review the CUSR for accuracy.

NOTE: The 3rd Armored Battalion CSM finished a junior promotion board and as a result there are 12 more SPC/CPL promotable’s and wants for you to remove two CPL(P) effective today for misconduct.
