Current Evaluation: Obviously Outstanding: Ensuring children adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. What a fantastic year we have had!!! Developing our PE provision over the last year has been fantastic. PE and School Sport at Malin Bridge is currently at an all-time high. PE and School Sport is high priority within the whole school development plan. Over the past year we have continued with staff CPD which includes staff accessing basketball, rugby, multiskills, hockey CPD within school. The PE coordinator has completed PE Specialism course over the last academic year and all staff have been supported throughout the year by the coordinator, providing planning ideas (via Twitter & PE Scholar), support with teaching particular sports and other resources. The teaching of PE is consistently good or better and is taught throughout school by Teachers, where this is not the case PE is taught by HLTA with a Sports Specialism. We know this by conducting an evaluation week where planning, assessment and teaching were all scrutinised by PE Coordinator and other members of SLT. We have set up a PE Focus group made up of staff across the school to build a consistent approach to PE and allow other staff to be part of the development. The PE Coordinator also produces a school sports audit which RAG rates all areas of PE and School support and shows progression of the subject year on year. During the past year the school has been competing throughout the year. Success has come from many different sports and both boys and girls have been successful. Sports where we compete are football, athletics; cross country, basketball, gymnastics, dance and KS1 took part in Road 2 Rio festival. Highlights of the year was a Gold medal for gymnastics at the South Yorkshire School Games, a successful season in the Sheffield Schools Cross Country, boys football, girls football and finalists in the Sheffield Schools Athletics competition. Recognition for our success in PE has come from Arches Sports Partnership (Steve Green: PE Coodinator of the Year), School Games Gold award, Adrian Francis Ofsted inspector. We have worked closely with different partners, the main one being Arches Sports Partnership. Other partners include Move More Sheffield Pilot Project, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Activity Sheffield, Sheffield Steelers (Awards for All), Sheffield School Sports Federation and other schools within the locality. We have introduced the Daily Mile for all children and had a very successful Healthy School and Sport Week (which actually turned into three weeks). This included Healthy eating workshops, visits from Sheffield Steelers, Sports Day, Cricket festival, football festival, whole school dance, gymnastics, judo and athletics. And finally, we have been part of the Move More Sheffield Pilot Project which includes five other schools across Sheffield. The project aims to make Sheffield the most active and fittest city in the country and we are aiming to be the fittest school in the city. Key Priorities  Continue to develop the teaching of PE so that it is consistently outstanding  Support nursery staff in developing PE  Increase competition in KS1  Continue to increase the percentage of children achieving NC levels  Forge developmental links with other schools to develop PE and School Sport  Ensure assessment in PE is consistent across the school
