1.0 Confirmation of Minutes

1.1 Confirmation of Minutes of Monthly Meeting held on Monday 15th September 2008. Proposed by Councillor Noel Leonard. Seconded by Councillor Joe Bonner.

1.2 Confirmation of Minutes of Special Area Meeting held on Monday 6th October 2008. Proposed by Councillor Nick Killian. Seconded by Councillor Noel Leonard.

2.0 Expression of Congratulation and Sympathy

The members congratulated Navan O’Mahonys on winning the Senior Football County Championship.

3.0 Matters arising from the minutes.

Following confirmation of the Minutes of Special Area Meeting in October, the members raised the following points regarding proposed withdrawal of Motor Tax Services from Area Offices:

 Method of informing the Members of proposal  Infrastructure required to provide service from Area Offices  Availability of Motor Tax service at Area Level in other Counties  Maintenance of core services including motor tax  Limitations on public to tax vehicles online due to lack of broadband infrastructure  Reduction in services provided from Area Offices  Call for Joint Meeting of Members from Slane Electoral Area and Dunshaughlin Electoral Area

Michael Killeen, Area Manager advised the members that a report with full costings is being compiled and a joint meeting could be facilitated on completion of this report.

The Area Administrator updated the members regarding Waste Permits in the Area.

6.1 Infrastructure

6.1.1 To receive a presentation on Ireland Wales Interconnector (Eirgrid)

Sean Meagher, Project Manager Ireland and Valerie Hedin, Senior Communications Specialist, circulated details and maps of the proposed Eirgrid East West Interconnector. Included were details regarding:  Need of the interconnector  Technology involved  Progress to date  Information details of route announcement  Public concerns regarding: traffic disruption, reinstatement of roads affected, installation of joint pits and Safety & Health  Project commencement expected 2010 (subject to planning and contract) with completion targeted for 2010.

6.2 Planning and Economic Development

6.2.1 To receive a presentation on Unauthorized Development on N2 South of Ashbourne

Senior Executive Officer, Planning, updated the Members regarding unauthorized development on N2 South of Ashbourne. Local Authority procedures concerning unauthorized development under current Planning Legislation were outlined.

7.0 Matter’s raised with the permission of the Cathoirleach

Councillor Joe Bonner raised the following issues:

 Condition of 2 bridges at Ashbourne and possibility of temporary barriers

Councillor Noel Leonard raised the following issues:  Taking in charge of Millfarm Estate  Hedge cutting in Area
