Description: Planning BOM compare is a web-enabled user interface used to perform Bill of Material (BOM) Compares between Engineering Assemblies (ENACT) and Manufacturing Assemblies (CAS). Data Quality Inspector is tool that helps the analysts to view and analyze the anomalies in data between the Manufacturing and Engineering assemblies.

Planning BOM compare application is created using Java web technology using which the Configuration Specialists can run the BOM compares by exploding the parts to the desired level.

Environment: Informatica 7.1, Data Quality Inspector, Appworx, Unix and Oracle 9i.

Responsibilities:  Responsible to understand the business rules for Bill of Materials.  Detailed Analysis of the requirement and transform to technical specification.  Developed ETL & Informatica best practices guidelines for all ETL developers.  Involved in design and development of common framework for error logging and parameter management for the project.  Conduct peer reviews for ETL code and testing strategies.  Creation of Informatica mapping, Use Mapplets and Reusable Transformation to reduce the coding efforts.  Designing, developing and testing Different Mappings according to Requirements.  Worked extensively on different types of transformations like Source qualifier, Expression, Filter, Aggregator, Lookup, Sequence generator, Router and Joiner.  Created and scheduled Worklets, Configured email notifications. Set up Workflow to schedule the loads at required frequency using Power Center Workflow Manager, Generated completion messages and status reports using Workflow Manager.  Understand the DQI tool Architecture to implement Bill of Material Comparison.  Develop the mechanical compare business rules using PL/SQL in Oracle 8i to compare Engineering and Manufacturing parts.

Description: Data Quality Inspector (DQI) is an Oracle tool used for comparing the quality of the data in a system or between systems and to generate a report based on it.

In this project, DQI is used to compare the data of various systems. Since the Supply Chain project have interfaces with different systems like CAS, ISSES, IMPACT, WMS, PSS, SSS, OCTA, etc, DQI compares the data within these systems and also between any two systems. DQI does the HEALTH check, Mechanical and Inline check when needed. This helps GE to know about the accuracy and validity of the data and can predict more about the performance of the system.
